SamJ 8,008
So when Meghan debuted in late 2014 with All About That Bass I thought: Fair enough this is a decent song, it was clearly a massive hit which has become a modern classic, it has a good message and I quite like it, its catchy ,easy to listen to, fun, but the doo wop style is not really my taste so I wasn't that bothered about playing it on repeat. I thought she was going to be a one hit wonder to be completely honest. Then she released Lips Are Movin, which again is another decent catchy retro pop song ,it was a decent hit for her. And then she had a few more hits from that era and she had good success with her Marvin Gaye collab song which helped establish her as a big pop star. Then without much of a break she was back with the lead single NO, and I was like wow she has got some sass. I was so impressed its a great fun pop song with good bass which I love she was showing more personality and confidence and her dancing in the video is good in my opinion I love her red hair she has become more daring and stylish and iconic with her image. She is really branding herself well in this era. I've seen some live performances of NO and Me Too and some interviews of her and she seems like a really nice genuine, likeable person, she is beautiful and confident now and she is establishing herself as one of the biggest pop stars in the world I'm so pleased for her she is doing music she loves having fun with it and being who she wants to be. And she can shake her hips well which is an added bonus. I love the song better it gives me rich girl vibes by Gwen. anyway I'm loving this era she is becoming one of my fave's and becoming a pop icon now tbh! @Gypsy Life I'm tagging you in this because I know you also love the new queen of pop! Jellybean Monster 10
I'm loving it, too but I still prefer the retro doo-wop sound from "Title" to this late 90s/early 2000s sound some of her new songs have. I was never a huge fan of anything in the early 2000's if it wasn't Britney Spears or P!NK or something lol. I kind of wish she was able to go for the "next level" Title 2.0 she was aiming for before L.A. Reid had her change direction, but she has pulled it off and released a really solid album. Â I'm probably in the minority on this, considering how huge of a hit it is, but I didn't like "NO" at all, however the rest of the album is fantastic. Champagne Problems, Woman Up, Just A Friend To You, Friends are among my favorites.

MGC 226
Â I'm a big fan of that vintage sound she delivered with title. Plus, her image was something new. For these reasons, when NO came out I was quite in shock. I never listened really to that song until 15/20 days ago, now I love it. Same is happening with me too. After the first one or 2 listens I'm like WTF , then I enjoy it. I listened to thank you yesterday and I think it's quite a solid album, a good second work after title, plus I was missing some pure catchy pop from the US. I just hope that she can affirm in the business, here on the other side of the ocean this era is not under the spotlight atm
