I think she has not been rebranded, they are just building her already existing brand she is a nostalgia act her first era was all about the doo wops and NO was an early 00's pop classic sound with extra bass it sounds totally different to what's in the charts ATM that's why she is exciting cool and popular.

I feel Meghan was better off giving us a second doo-wop album cause it's such a rare genre during this time and she could have taken it into new places instead of changing her sound. What Meghan is doing now is so outdated, it sounds ugly, her new album sounds like a cheesy cringe-worthy messy mix-tape and this is based on my judgment on half the album, I will wait to hear the other half before I make a final judgment. 

I enjoy what she's putting out now, but you're so right about the doo wop thing. That's a big reason I fell for mtrain is because she had such a unique sound. I hope troye doesn't smother that
