Actor and activist George Takei released a video on Wednesday on his Facebook page urging fellow supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) to unite behind fellow Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. “Ultimately, we Democrats know that a bit of a tussle isn’t a bad thing — it makes us stronger. Keeps us sharp,” he said. “And really, it’s like a family squabble, where only family — those very close to us — can truly get under our skin. But remember this, too: it’s precisely because we like and respect each other that the words and criticisms sting as much as they do.”

 "Respectfully disagree. Will be voting for Bernie in the CA primary and will vote for Dr. Jill Stein of the Green Party if he does not get the nom. I hold no loyalty to petty political parties, both of which are corrupt.

The two party system is flawed and we need to start realizing this and trying something different."

Takei responded and it has more than 3,000 likes: 

"I understand your frustration. But a divided left in 2000 led us to a Bush Presidency, including two wars, three Supreme Court Conservatives, and the biggest economic meltdown since the Great Depression. I would rather continue to see young people engaged in and changing the Democratic Party from within. These changes don't happen overnight. If you give up after Bernie's candidacy you're not demonstrating your gumption and staying power. Come in, change the party. Look how far you've already moved it."

Talked to my friend about what people are saying regarding going for the Green party, and he told me that most of these people already live in dominant blue or red states.

The only places where their vote is ultimately needed is the swing states, and people there tend to be more realistic regarding the damage Republican candidates can make. 

Made me feel a bit better. Hopefully this election won't go Nader on us.

Still laughing about people saying Trump is better than Hillary though

hillary has the nom locked up and i live in a  blue state in california. my vote literally is useless because i know how my state will vote.

But that wouldn't happen at all if we picked Bernie. Everyone would vote for him ten, including more independents. You can't change people's feelings and make them vote for someone who's corrupt and they dislike. It's that simple. I'd rather see Bernie or Jill win some electoral college points and make a point as a third party this election than have Hillary in office. I will only take her if she picks Warren as a vice or trumps not the nominee. Trumps more liberal than her, she's oN the  right side of the political spectrum. Atleast he supported gays for a while unlike flip flop clinton

Stupid idea. Trump and Bernie supporters share one important thing: they want a change. The Hillary vote is a vote for stasis. If I lived in the U.S. I'd seriously consider choosing Trump over Hillary precisely for the reason that a terrible change might be more valuable than the same old thing.

So no, it's not at all logical to assume that a Bernie supporter has to support some random Democrat too by default. This is not a family squabble. We are not a family.

Yeah the swing states is where it's most important.

We'll see how this election goes though. I think we might be in for some surprises on certain states if Republicans decide they don't like Trump. REAL Republicans, not these independents who are going out and voting for him.

I know a lot of Bernie supporters are considering what they should do, so don't be surprised if you hear the same thing from more people soon. Hillary is not an alternative on any level and Jill's never gonna win, so we have to do something retarded anyway. Either vote for someone we despise or vote for someone we despise that can actually present a grotesque of the change we wanted, in the hope that the counterreaction to it will cause a political shift.

Still not sure what I would do. But I know it's not crazy to consider it

I do plan to move to the U.S. in a few years tho, so beware
