PERFECTIONIST 2,139
Demi Lovato posted a series of photos on Snapchat on Friday to celebrate her body confidence after years of struggling with eating disorders. "My body isn't perfect, I'm not my fittest but this is me!! And I <3 it" she wrote over a photo of her in a bikini, pinching her stomach. She also posted a bikini selfie captioned "Curves" and another comparing the curves of her body to a wave. IMAGE NSFW Spoiler But it's problematic to say that she's not "perfect" the way she is (and not because many would call Demi's toned figure in the snaps just that — perfect). The issue is that by saying she's not perfect, she implies that there's a standard of physical perfection that young women need to meet. That's total BS. As long as you're healthy (and that's a conversation for you and your doctor, no one else's opinion matters), you're perfect. Period. Bodies are beautiful in all sorts of ways: with thick thighs, small boobs, a curvy belly, a flat butt, athletic calves, and so on. Some people happen to look like Demi, or like whatever "perfect" standard of beauty Demi's referring to, and that's cool. But a narrow standard of "perfect" beauty leaves out all the rad variety of ways people can and should look. Haroon 49,685
They're making something out of nothing "Perfect" depends on the person, if she doesn't think she's perfect then let her, if others think she's perfect then let them It grinds my gears when people try to take away other people's right to feel a certain way, like yes many different body types are awesome and should be embraced, but the reality is that people may still not think they're perfect and that's okay too. Demi clearly said she loves herself and isn't that the most important thing?

Alien Tulip 12,428
Just now, C Slayclair said: she's really shy and skinny in person I met her Her social media personality is highly annoying and I kinda understand why people come for her attitude but I never understood why people came for her looks or body. She's not ugly and she's actually a thin woman. She just needs to stop being so passive aggressive on her twitter rants because she constantly contradicts herself from time to time which makes her an easy target to the public eye.
