Beyonce's 6th reocrd had just premiered a few hours ago on HBO, accompanied with brilliant, soulful visuals, filled with social intent and empowerment.

Thematically, I see the visual album that, aside from Beyonce's societal views, also reveals a glimpse into Beyonce's world. She shares herself to her audience with tracks containing themes of love, and the seeking of acceptance.

*Of course I'm to look deeper into this, its just a quick speculation.

What do you think Lemonade means?

What does Lemonade mean to you?

Yes, I also do love partying in moving houses as seen in that one Bacardi tv ad.

Exactly. She was hurt, feel betrayed, angry by her man being infaithful but decides to not let that event get the better of her. When the life give you lemon, make a lemonade. :gaycat:

LEMONADE could mean anything :koons:

Drinking in the ugly truth which is masked as something sweet and bitter (Jay Z cheating) accepting it, and then learning to live again. Maybe Lemonade is a metaphor for relationships that seem beautiful on the outside (Jay Z and Beyoncé) but also have a bitter quality even in all of the sweetness.

Idk I'm just BS-ing at this point :madge:

If life gives you Jay Z cheating, you make Sandcastles.

❝Is not blue, not turquoise, not lapis. It's actually cerulean❞.

At the end of all night, it explains it: a monologue of the classic line "Make lemonade out of lemons".

The music plays on the bitterness of her relationship, and finding sweetness again.

The visuals play on what black women have gone through, and the bitter times they had to both endure as slaves, without human rights, and dealing with misogyny. Beyoncé suggests in the end, that being a strong black woman means making LEMONADE out of it.

It's why the album finishes with Formation. She is saying "let's organize ourselves because we have worth, we slay! Let's overcome and be better because of what has happened to us."

And this is why its Beyonce's best and most clever album yet. It's meaningful. And important.

The name #LEMONADE was to pay tribute to Hattie White(Jay Z's grandma) and Agnez Dereon(Beyoncé's late grandmother)

I never knew there were black people with the last name White :green:

But then again there's Sirius Black... Still I find it weird the other way around.

The Surrealist

Lemonade is the drink you drank as a child on hot summer days in Louisiana. That is what LEMONADE is about. It is about accepting your heritage, loving your family and being in love.

Like someone else said; When life gives you lemons, make some lemonade.

It's about accepting the setbacks in life but getting through to the end of the tunnel. It's forgiving those that have wronged you, but not forgetting.
