Why I think Gaga is not releasing LG5 yet or anytime soon

There's competition pretty much every month of the year. And that's not even a bad thing. Unless the music and promotion are good, it will sell the same whether it's released in May or October. BTW sold more in May VS ARTPOP in November. Sure, in a quieter period she might get a higher spot on the chart easier, but it doesn't mean she's gonna be selling in huge numbers.

The only thing I feel would be wise to avoid is releasing/announcing directly in line with another big star. For example, announcing something tonight while everyone is going crazy over Beyonce, or, say... Releasing in the same week as Katy Perry

I'm not saying Gaga cares about the sales, charts, streams, or views, but you have to remember that she's not in charge of when her music will be released.

Most likely, she won't release new music until after May, because that's when more rock albums will be released, making LG5 to stand out if it's a pop album.

But, it would most likely drop before American Horror Story starts, which is in October.

Basically, LG5 won't come until June and would be here by October.

Are any of those people you named ACTUALLY "GP friendly", I think they're more media favorites at the moment. That's who always get the most coverage - the favorites of media, the favorites of the pop media, and Lady Gaga has most of the time been someone media makes fun of for her outfits and ideas. The ones you mentioned however are more accepted by media, hence get coverage, when they release music or cause scandal. Gaga has always had to fight much harder to get coverage on radio and in entertainment news shows. Also Gaga most certainly has input in release dates, she pushed for a Born This Way release sooner than originally planned to coincide with anniversary of McQueen's death and with ARTPOP, I recall she mentioned she wanted a day that people didn't have work or school so they could get the album and listen to it fully, that day being Remembrance Day.

I think the October option is not that unlikely. Maybe they're planning to release LG5 at the exact same time that AHS starts so she's done filming and can promote the album so she's literally everywhere; TV series, music videos on YouTube, live TV performances, guest appearances, interviews, magazine covers etc.

Q3 might have even stronger competition tbh, we don't know who might release..

She should just prepare a good marketing strategy, good schedule and that's it. If she waits for a month with no releases, she will never release her album.

I have no idea where you got the their last album outsold ARTPOP thing from..

Lady Gaga - ARTPOP 757,000 as of April 2016.

Fifth Harmony - Reflection 500,000 (based on certification).

Nick Jonas - Nick Jonas (doesn't even have record besides first week sales of 37,000, ARTPOP sold more than that in first day/2 days).

Ariana Grande - My Everything 692,000 as of March 2016.

Meghan is the only one who has outsold ARTPOP w/ Title, lol.

thank you for saying it!!!! Gaga's biggest mess (ARTPOP) took the longest to make (2 years!!) and her masterpiece (TFM) was made in 6 months while also on a rigorous tour living on a bus.

Honestly sometimes I forget she even exists sometimes and that's really sad for me.

I know that will change when LG5 comes out, but I doubt she'll ever be popular again. She took too long after BTW to release ARTPOP and now she is taking too long with this album.

You can't call yourself a relevant pop act if you have only released two music videos in the past four years. 

ARTPOP should have come out in December 2012 like promised. LG5 should have been Summer 14'. We should be prepping for LG6 now. 

Unfortunately she got too artistic too fast. And it killed her. 

And considering ARTPOP failed to deliver, she should have quickly bounced back with a great pop album in 2014 like Rihanna did with LOUD after Rated R flopped. It saved her. 

Instead, she had to "prove her haters wrong" and make a (albeit great) covers album. Which then led to lots of covers....which has now led to Gaga being known as a good vocalist/glorified covers act.

Gaga needs to quit caring what her haters think and CONSISTENTLY put out POP records. In my opinion, you should have at minimum, six consistent pop albums with full fledged concepts before you start experimenting too much. 

Born This Way was far enough of a risk, but ARTPOP crossed the line of "weirdly good" to "weirdly stale". 

I hope she bucks up, and LG5, LG6, and LG7 are out by the end of 2020:

LG5: mid 2016

LG6: fall 2018

LG7: late 2020

I would like to mention that ARTPOP sold more in its first week, in the US and worldwide than all of those supposedly Gp-friendly artist's last album efforts with the exception of Beyonce's self-titled. 

So I see no competition other than Beyonce and besides you know how it works

Beyonce gets amazing acclaim and the album sells really well, one top 10 single and then the era dies , LG5 should not be held back for a release date starting Late May, assuming Beyonce drops hers tomorrow.

Tbh she should be on album 6 by now, shes been on the scene 8 years and only has 3 full LP albums.

I don't think she cares in the aspect that if she doesn't get to #1 she'll be pissed, but that if she does get #1 she'll obviously be happy.
