If she took a couple songs off the album, it'd be perfect. ^^ i liked it. my least favorite gaga album but it had some UH-MAZING TRACKS (Aura, Venus, DWUW, Gypsy, Applause) and that did it for me personally i found a huge disconnect between the vague concept of the album and the tracks and that's one of my problems with it. PartySick 160,321
Of course I love every single song and the overall theme to bits! Album of the millennium Billionaires are a cancer. Even the ones you like.

Radio Ga Ga 5,671
Yes, it's my second favorite from her behind born this way. IMO it's sorta like a "socialist society" album, in which 8-10 tracks are all really good and comparable to each other, with no tracks significantly standing out over all other, and that makes the album really cohesive. (unlike The Fame and TFM, )
Bette Davis 12,742
The reason I was first drawn to her was how perfectly put together and polished she was, from her music, videos and fashion. ARTPOP was the exact opposite of that - messy, chaotic, unfiltered, random. Naturally, the cd didn't appeal to me at all. Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet. Johnikan 602
I feel ARTPOP, out of everyone of her albums, gave us the deepest and realest feel for not just Gaga, but Stefani and what was going on internally. As Gaga has stated, this album was her "acid album", all of her emotions and frustrations with the industry and the life that comes along with it is in this album. Its also the one I am able to connect with the most. So yes, ARTPOP is a masterpiece that we will all come to appreciate in a few years. Even today we can so the influence of ARTPOP. Dark Anatomy 2,284
No. Not at all. I remember after listening to the leak I cancelled all of my pre-orders. Basically my issue with the album is... 1.) It did not have a clear concept or direction. It's honestly as though Gaga just picked a word and then built this sort of vague meaning behind it. When I listen to the album I don't hear ARTPOP, but rather the inverse... POPART. Pop culture (sex, drugs, more ex) in the forefront with the ART taking a backseat. 2.) It wasn't clever. Most of Gaga's previous albums had a sort of intelligence about it. Satire, Political statements, Religious iconography. The only thing this album truly shifted was a lot of "in your face" art references. There WERE TOO MANY REFERENCES, and you almost got the sense that this wasn't even Gaga. I get that she was trying to back track the lame concept with "PUTTING THE ART ON THE POPSTAR" but it just felt like a cheap Gag. What would've truly been ARTPOP was to use her status as a pop star to display her OWN ORIGINAL art. Hell, she should've created the album cover and imagery herself, if she truly wanted to commit to it. So basically... the album was compiled with a lot of sexually charged/overused subject matter, failed to execute a clear and clever concept, and delivered more references to other people's art than her own. I didn't want to be given a lesson in ARTPOP, I wanted her to actually MAKE ARTPOP like she had been with her last 3 albums. I don't care that it was a commercial set back, I wouldn't like it if it sold more than 21 and 25 combined. It sucked. It just sucked.

Bradley 59,093
11 hours ago, Kanye West said: No. It's her worst album to date. Yet better than so many of her rivals' recent albums. Like Revival by Selena Gomez and Purpose by Justin Bieber which both received good response from critics are both inferior to ARTPOP imo. ARTPOP is way more ambitious and unique in terms of the melody, audacity of the artists and performance style. 1989 by Taylor Swift might be more successful than ARTPOP but still I see tons of people, including me who think that it's rather a safe, generic and basic record. I'm sorry but Blank Space, Shake it Off, Bad Blood, Wildest Dreams are really mediocre in comparison with the aggressive and euphoric sounds of Aura, Sexxx Dreams, Do What U Want, Applause, G.U.Y. and Venus. Taylor has become unwilling to take risks and followed the Katy Perry footstep, the thing is Katy actually makes music that is catchy and her visuals are usually consistently cheerful and entertaining. I'm not saying you should always be as ambitious and wild as Gaga to be considered a great artist. Adele, The Weeknd, Rihanna and Zayn are examples I would say that are commercial yet have quality in their music.
mic 1,415
Yes I did but with the amount of long snippets/leaks/itunes festival and all the experience was kinda spoilt so I guess I did not experience it properly. I love almost all the songs we heard before the release, the rest disappointed me
andy232000 11,476
all of you that say the album made no sense seriously never got the album´s meaning on the first place, cause 80% of the songs in ARTPOP are related to a central topic, and that percentage is higher than BTW cohesion Spoiler yes, i went there
