Hyperballad 4,291
So before you kill me I've had a feeling that Katy's next album will flop,I know what about 2013! Yea I know but ARTPOP was one of those risks that Gaga experimented with and it was a rush album,I think now Gaga has learned what she did wrong and is now on track.I have a feeling this is Gaga's year and Britney,Beyonce & Katy will probably make a comeback but not as powerful as Gaga's.So what do you think so who do you think will win Katy vs. Gaga Part II.Discuss
Pierre 10,480
I hope, but she and her team are way too safe and almost basic to take risks. Beyonce is now almost an album artist, so, she is going to release, media will love it and talk about it for 1 week and that's it, probably just a performance with a train of girl dancing and lights and drums. Britney, I'm 50/50 about her right now. Gaga just needs a well planned era in every aspect: media, buzz, date, singles, fashion, hair, make up, videos... And the music, of course. Not here for another DWUW/Venusmess or Gaga directing, creating and doing everything. But don't hype yourself, she or anybody can't be that huuuuge like TFM, BEYONCE, Teenage Dream... ❝Is not blue, not turquoise, not lapis. It's actually cerulean❞. Nicogly 2,579
Katy will win....wait a sec...It is not a competition. Really I don't care how she does, I just care for quality music, and if its accompanied by hits, then very welcomed Rock On and A Last One For the Road 🚬
ViviLittleM 3
Don't hype yourself like that for Gaga. We literally don't know. We don't know if she can slay with this era. Streaming is the thing now and right now she's hum in streaming. - Katy, hopefully will come finally, with a mature era not Teenage Dream 3.
Regina George 59,387
I really think that this is Gaga/Britney year. I don't know about Katy tho'.
Jinzo 9,639
yes! she has to flop.. karma will bite her ass.
eifulien 2,643
She is in a tough position tbh. She's at a point where not taking risks is just as risky as taking lots of risks. Like she definitely needs a U-turn from the candy persona but nothing too radical. I think she'd be fine if she finally makes that more organic and dark-ish thing she was promising for PRISM. Like maybe take the second half of the album a bit further. Spoiler Another possibility is to jump off the pop train. You know, she has a thirsty hillbilly audience in the mid-US. Get them some howdy-moudy country music.
Dangerous Man 9,245
As much as monsters want her to totally flop, NO. She'll at least earn number 1(s) every era even her album flops in sales. Decodekid 27,557
she's very commercial so at least her singles won't flop Long Live Gretchen
Chic 20,830
1. Nobody knows 2. Katy's measure of success does not rely on Gaga's, and vice versa 3. ugh
Mister Gaga 22,370
It depends. If she releases TD 3.0, i'm afraid she'll flop. Lead single will do good, as always, but it will fall quickly. People were already tired of her bubblegum sound in PRISM. Roar did excellent because it was the lead single, but the other singles flopped really hard. Now, Dark Horse showed another face of Katy, more dark and mature. And people liked it. So, if KP4 goes in that way, will do good. If not...well, she'll flop i guess, just like Birthday and TIHWD did
ARTPOPisaChoice 946
It depends on whether or not she actually wants to create a mature album. If she wants to mature and grow as an artist, there is a real risk it won't pay off, as "pop girls" aren't really the thing right now. If she plays it safe again, there's a much higher chance she won't flop. Hands up to the sky 🌧 I’ll be your galaxy 🌌
CakeLikeLG 6,275
streaming monsters like Katy, Riri and Ariana will always have decent hits thanks to streaming (Focus) live each day like Gaga might drop an album
Prismatic 4,789
No. She came off from one of the most viewed Superbowl performance, $200+ million tour, 2 monstrous hit that basically, 2 diamond (and I'm sure Capital will certify her third [Roar] when KP4 starts to build hype and buzz). FATCAT 59,418
If "flopping" means that she's taken an experimental, and less commercial role in her albums, then I hope she does "flop". I can't be free if my hands are tied... 🧟♀️👰🏻
