bowie1986 178
I'm curious to know how everyone felt about Gwen Stefani's new album? Not a huge fan of her, minus a few songs from past solo albums and albums with No Doubt, but this album is growing on me the more I listen to it. While it feels very commercial, despite her claiming in interviews that she wanted to make something that wasn't (and she seems to believe what she created isn't super commercial),I really like "Red Flag" & "Rare". What are your thoughts on the album?
dannydevito 10,658
read the title and I was preparing my comment "thanks for the news internet explorer" but then I read the thread and I can say the best album of the year so far
ARTPOPisaChoice 946
It's her weakest solo album but it's not offensive in any way. A solid 6/10 from me. This is coming from a huge No Doubt/Gwen fan who was dissapointed with both of their last releases. Hands up to the sky 🌧 I’ll be your galaxy 🌌

In memory of old Gwen, I still ****ing love the lyric "Look at your watch now // You're still a super hot female// You've got your million dollar contract// And they're all waiting for your hot track"Â
Gagz 2,579
I don't like it as much as The Sweet Escape or LAMB, but those were tough albums to top. I don't think it flows very well (it goes from love songs to heartbreak songs to love songs to heartbreak songs and so forth a bit much), and the best songs are the bonus tracks. I love Red Flag, Naughty, Rocket Ship, Obsessed and Splash.

Quasi 10,936
Apart from "Make Me Like You", I was really disappointed with the songs and just expected that at least a couple would hit me in the right place musically, but it just didn't happen. I'm glad she's getting the recognition she deserves though. I don't understand pineapples, so I don't eat bananas.
Bette Davis 12,742
I'm a huge fan of Gwen/No Doubt, and although I find a few songs on her new album to be super catchy (Misery and Rare are better than most of The Sweet Escape), I find the overall album to be really boring and generic as far as the creativity, visuals, and overall sound go. It's not a bad album, but it feels really uninspired. I love when Gwen draws influence from really unique places, such as New Wave, Ska, Harajuku culture, etc and blends them into something fresh instead of trying to mimic today's trends. Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.

Psychedelic 1,098
LAMB was pure pop perfection, it's almost impossible to top it. I think this album is far better than The Sweet Escape though (except fot the title track of the latter, which is a materpiece also) TIWTTFL feel very much inpired lyrically, but so little musically and production-wise. Still I believe it's very cohesive and most songs are really enjoyable. My score is 8.5/10 LAMB was 10/10 and TSE 7/
