It is the short term for Pederaste which means someone who dates a Child. That comes from ancient Rome, where Romans were dating young boys. "PD" is a misunderstood, deviation made by the inhabitants. So, No, it is not insulting. But, i Agree. It is a shamed to make this word "cool" because most of the hairdresser are Gay.
