SISTERV 3,887
NepaScene is an alternative music source, and one of those media sources that typically bash pop music for its inauthenticity. In this new article, they delve into why pop music has been so boring lately, and name Lady Gaga as not only the best modern example of a pop artist to look up to, but the only artist right now that can save pop music in its flat state. The article isn't stannish, but a genuine observation from a GP music authoritarian, who says they have realized looking back that Gaga isn't a one trick pony and could genuinely change the way the music industry works, putting the power back in the hands of the artist, and being a huge example of that going forward, that the music industry can see as successful. I just thought this article was newsworthy considering it's not coming from some big mainstream music site like Rolling Stones or Billboard, but a real music critics site that has nothing to gain from standing up for Gaga. I think it also shows people are finally willing to take Gaga more serious than a few tricks pony, now, and more as a major game changer of this generation. Bradley 59,155
It's so hard to find talent right now in the music industry. They didn't lie though, Gaga's one of the very few.

LoveandMagic 1,731
Oooh, I love this bit: "At age 17, she had already worked hard and long enough to gain acceptance to NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts – one of 20 out of thousands of applicants. She agreed to being sold as a “product,” but under a Madonna-like subterfuge with the intent to turn the tables. After being outrageous enough (****in’ gown made of meat, yo! God I wish I thought of that!) to amass a huge fortune and a legion of rabidly loyal fans, she had become powerful enough to inform the label that they could insert their attempts at creative control deeply into their collective sphincter. She then went on to write, arrange, and produce music that alienated all of her fickle, unwashed, easily led Top 40 fans that would have run off when they turned 17 anyway, but steeled her connection to her hardcore base. She then added a one-two punch with brilliant decisions, such as a duo with Tony Bennett and her brilliant Grammy tribute to Bowie, a maneuver that not only made his fans aware of her and her appreciation for her predecessors, but introduced an otherwise oblivious generation to Bowie’s music (bolstering my original point that knowing your musical history makes you more worthy of a place in it). This is not the résumé of someone who didn’t pay dues, yo." Such tea. Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax." This is why she said 'Many of you will betray me with the next album' or something along the line at the BTWB.
