How to Score Multiple #1s with LG5 (RELEASE CONCEPT)

SISTERV

That would be epic. I feel like GaGa could pull it off if she was ballsey enough too. It would be a true artistic experience. Revolving and unraveling over a time period

edit: on the other hand I do agree with the negative comments regarding sales etc but it could potentially have haha super contemporary if hype was alive.

I'd rather just buy ONE album with all the songs and have one lead.

It's an interesting idea and we've seen Robyn do it. It could probably work but it's Gaga, she'd become overexposed after the second or probably third single. It's fun for those of us who want new Gaga music.

I guess it could also be like Justin Timberlake's 20/20 Experience. She was supposed to do this with ARTPOP and we know how that turned out. Hmm it depresses me to just think about Gaga keeping some really good tracks for Act II and just by surprise, the plan didn't work out and she had to keep those unreleased

I mean... The only positive of this (imo) would be that the lead singles of the respective EPs would have a greater chance of success. But not guaranteed. In this age where streaming has a lot of influence on the charts, I feel like songs don't become hits as instantly as they used to so it wouldn't matter if they were "leads" or not, and looking at Rihanna's string of non-album singles last year we can tell that songs not being part of an album doesn't guarantee any kind of major success.

Also knowing Gaga she would not be able to lay down a long album and then be satisfied with it enough to release it all in chunks over the course of nearly a year (as in your schedule). We know that BTW and AP were both being changed up until the very last minute. From the release of the first instalment, Gaga would no doubt continue to have second thoughts about the direction of the other songs, and the other EPs could end up sounding completely out of place with each other.

I do like the idea of switching up a traditional album release, but I don't think that a stunted delivery of tracks like this is the best way to go about it. Look at someone like Adele making a huge comeback with that one great song, and the album following not long after. And yes I know it's Adele and no one else will succeed like that, but I'm talking about the strategy. Gaga constantly releasing music whilst teasing at the actual album would completely kill the impact imo. Rihanna's 2015 singles, as I mentioned before, and Justin Bieber's 'Journals' release strategy spring to mind. Excitement upon the first release but then it just became tedious and ultimately underwhelming.

I respect your idea and in a perfect world it would be amazing. But in my opinion it would just be a drag for the GP and thus wouldn't fare so well commercially, and also as a fan I would much rather listen to the album as a whole in full for the first time as an entire body of work rather than in chopped up chunks. Artists can use 'innovative' and different ways of releasing to get attention but at the end of the day the music has to be great for it to be a success, regardless of the release method.

I actually love this idea. Only other thing is that after the 4th LP... We would need a full collection edition with all 4 in one.

Great idea, but I think that it wouldn't work for Gaga :emma:

And the album sales could be a mess :duck:

but a two part album would be great :poot:

It worked for JT at least
