How does the Superbowl select its entertainers?

Anyone has got any idea on this?

Do the management teams of the artists apply for the position or do the artists get an active invitation? Are there certain qualifications that must be met before you can headline the show?

I'm still wondering how Bobby made this glorious moment happen.

I have much faith in Bobby on LG5 if he can make so many things happen without an album release.

According to Sarah Moll, who first led the panel for the 2007 event, her team compiles a list of hot performers who are, in her own words, "at the top of their game and who will put on the coolest 12 minutes in music, because that’s kind of what the halftime show boils down to.”

Artists do not campaign to perform the halftime show, and are only reimbursed for their personal expenses. It's safe to say that no musician would turn down the opportunity to perform and promote themselves in front of more than 100 million viewers.

Once the performers are selected, they are contacted through their agents to confirm the booking. From there, the show's producer and director sit down with the artists to discuss everything from the lighting and stage design to the setlist and the guests who will accompany them on stage.

Several weeks out from the show, a crew of 300 is hired and trained to assemble and break down the stage in a matter of minutes. In the days leading up to the game, the artists and the crew rehearse the show to ensure a smooth execution on game day.

Assuming this is also the case for National Anthem performers, it could be said that Gaga was invited to perform rather than her asking the panel if she could perform.

Why would anyone think that it was Bobby who campaigned for Gaga to perform? That's just not how it works with Super Bowl. The NFL simply picks whoever it wants, and no one will ever say no to them.

I'm pretty sure the Sound of Music tribute had a lot to do with Gaga's pick. In fact, right after the tribute I got the feeling she would be the obvious choice for the National Anthem the following year, I kid you not.

Why do I have the feeling she might headline the halftime show next year ? I mean if they did invite her for the national anthem this year, there's a rather high chance for them to invite her again. Just listen to the people's acclaim.
