Why wasn't this bop a worldwide smash?

If I remember correctly it was a pretty big hit here in New Zealand, I had no idea it performed so poorly on the BB hot 100

Because it's not that good? But the acoustic version is dope though

I love this song! It peaked at #5 on the UK Charts, but I totally wish it was more popular here in the US.:air:

No. It was a hit in other countries such as the UK, but flopped in the US. It's an amazing song. Under performance doesn't necessarily mean low quality. Clean your ears out.

Uhm.. defensive much. The song itself is amazing but, in my opinion, the production is too much, and it's a popular opinion too, which explain why it's not a global hit.

It wasn’t really promoted in the US

You're the only person in this thread to criticize the production, so no. It's not a popular opinion. In my opinion, the production is perfect. The unique futuristic electronic sound is what makes the song.

True, but it should've charted higher with Big Sean featured on the track. It has all of the qualities of a hit.

I used to like it, the chorus is amazing... the verses are a bit uncreative and embarrassing

Jessie J's music is mostly trash tbh

Because Jessie J is not big in the US. Her biggest WW hit "Price Tag" didn't even enter the top 10 of BB H100.

It's Jessie J, what do you expect?

Plus the sounds so overdone.
