No it's not. Inference is not the same as Implicature. The terrorists are Muslims so the attacks are happening because of Muslims. Why are you letting Muslims off the hook here? Clearly, any person understands that this doesn't imply that all Muslims are responsible either, just the ones that are executing these attacks.

It's important to keep these connections in order to fully understand the situation. These terrorists in particular are not Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, or necessarily Atheist. They are Muslims, so they must be countered with measures that befits them. This also means that the Muslims who are against them need to do their own part in combating this. Stripping away descriptions for the sake of the feelings of a demographic is not how to do this.

You're missing my point!!! I never said we shouldn't note that they are Muslims. We should note that they are Muslim Extremists for the  sake of innocent, moralistic members of the Islam religion.

Especially with these situations, we all are involved and must choose and there are only two side, Love or Hate. And show it at all times. Anger breads hate, remember. We are also all our own peoples, there is not just one group of ANY group, that is responsible for all that is wrong in the world, we are all our own person. Work on yourself and all that You can reach and we make this world a tolerable place, little by little.

Because these people who are executing these attacks aren't representing what the religion is about. They aren't promoting the core value of Islam. You're not taught to go blow up civilization in order to please Allah in the Quran. These people are not regular Muslims. They are terrorists who practice Islam, and we owe it to the innocent ones in this situation to make the distinction. We owe them this so they won't be victims of retaliation when they had nothing to do with it, or believe in what these extremeists believed.

What are you doing? The terrorists believe they are Muslims and are acting based on an interpretation of Islam. They are Muslims.

Would you go ahead and refuse to call the Spanish invaders of South America as Christian despite the fact that spreading the religion to the heathens had a major role?

You don't get to pick and choose who is Muslim based on your own biased views. You have no right to do so in order to accomplish some disillusioned agenda of keeping Islam off the hook, as if its practitioners have no responsibility whatsoever.

Its just as ridiculous as saying the Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon have nothing to do with the Iranian caliphate and their theocratic feud with the Sunnis. Sit down

You said Muslim = Terrorist. That's what I'm disagreeing with. I agree about this point though.

You know what. You obviously have something against people who practice Islam, so this conversation is just worthless. Nothing I will say is gonna change your mind. You're completely missing my point after I explained it several times, and that speaks volumes to me. You have your opinion and I have mine.

1)So in order to stop the attacks, we should kill all the muslims, right? Since every muslim is a terrorist according to you

2) These arent real muslims, where, WHERE does it say that you should attack people because they have a different belive?!

Kill? So violent. Why would that be necessary? In order to stop the attacks, you somehow stop the Muslim extremists. How? Perhaps the non-extremist Muslims can play their part in an effort to reduce the potential of their people to turn extremist. After all, the extremists did not spawn from a log. That's something they need to figure out, not shy away and disassociate from for the sake of appearances.

Ooh boy. I'm sorry if I'm not sparing your feelings in an important discussion about responsibility. In any case I already agreed with you, so attempting to cast me as an Islamophobe is hilarious. This is a topic directly relating to Islam and I'm having a discussing with you about it. Just because my opinion is against yours, doesn't make me a bigot. Grow up will you?

I never called you a bigot, but something is blinding you from understanding what I'm trying to say because you just don't get it.

I understand both your opinions and mine is something in between.. The problem in Belgium started many decades ago ... Most of the time we had a left-wing government and they were "pro-multiculturalism" and when something happened they didn't want to see the reality and they were all the time neglecting the problems.. Now, so many years later, it all escalated, more specific in the area around Brussels, and now we can't stop the problems... I also want more border controls.. There is a whole neighbourhoud, probably a whole small town, who knew the brain of the terrorist attacks in Paris was hidden in that town.. They helped him, they didn't call the police.. When he got arrested, a lot of youth (and I'm sorry to say, but they were Muslim, but I really wanna make my point clear that I'm not against Muslims) started to throw rocks at the police, started to throw stones through the cars.. Today the same thing happened, some young guys (around 16-20) started to revolt against the police who were at the airport.. It's just a fact that right that we now have some problems that could have been avoided..

Did you miss my earlier post where I agreed with your position that we should call them Muslim Extremists and not just Muslims? I already do understand what you're trying to say. I simply provided another argument regarding the fact that these Extremists are Muslim. Nowhere did I say that all Muslims are extremists. This is a logical fallacy which you are using to paint me as something I am not.

Oh and when you say "You have something against Islam", this implies that you have biased animus against a certain demographic which also implies that you are bigoted towards them. So you did call me a bigot, when that's entirely incorrect.

Well I apologize, I never saw that post but I think that they should be reffered to as Extremists because of discrimination and blame. You think otherwise, which goes back to my post about opinions.

Teal Ambition

This is horrible. My cousin is currently in Brussels for work and she was actually at the airport this morning ready to go back to France. I'm very thankful she's safe.

RIP to those that have been killed :(

I agree from a theoretical standpoint. However one has to remember that theoretical ideas are not applicable in the grand scheme of human civilization, and the name of Islam has been used and abused throughout history. These terrorists hold on to these "righteous" ideologies from the past, and proclaim to be doing the right thing.

Do you so readily dismiss the effects the historical expansions of the Islamic Caliphates on the current expansionist ideologies of ISIS? Aren't they dreaming of becoming another Caliphate of the likes of Harun Al Rashid etc..?

The fact is that these are Muslims that are justifying themselves in some way that is not unique in history. It's up to the Muslims who are not terrorists to guide their followers onto the proper peaceful path.

Therefore dismissing these terrorists as not being Muslim is ultimately incredibly disillusioned and irresponsible. They did not come from nowhere. "True" Muslims need to accept that and do what they can to combat this, not shy away from it.
