"Nudity and graphic images are not allowed anywhere on the forums."

It's not a matter of opinion or taste level, it's a rule. The bloodied, peeling, boiled flesh of a burn victim is graphic. Period.

This is the reality of the situation in a lot of places around the world, and sticking your head in the sand because of your queazy sensibilities does not or will not make the situation go away - at all...!  People Need To See The Reality of this kind of barbarism PERIOD!

This is what's happening to our people every day. If it makes you uncomfortable then that's good because it should. The intention of the op was obviously not to shock or disturb so go choke on a fat cock and while you do think about how lucky you are to have not been severely injured or killed for it :)

Photographs of violence offer a shallow and voyeuristic understanding of the act of violence they document, unless you are empathetically retarded you should be able to comprehend the horrors of having your back boiled. However if for some reason you think it's vitally important that the users of this site view these horrific and graphic images than at the very least a warning should be given about the content in this thread.

I'm not asking you to censor the conversation, stick your head in the sand, or shy away from a frank discussion about the violence gay men face on a daily basis.

I am asking you to include a warning in the title of your thread, hide the images in a spoiler tag, or offer a link to the images.

In 2016 it's easily to become desensitized to reports of violence and injustice when there's a new story every 5 minutes. Pictures put a face to a crime and unless you're challenged when it comes to understanding how empathy works, empathizing with a human being that you can see is a lot stronger than empathizing with a wall of text about what some criminal did to his son. It only makes sense that as a forum with a majority of LGBT+ users, we would go out of our way to remind ourselves of the challenges we face as a community and to be grateful every day for how far our predecessors have gotten us. If you think your judgement is worth anything apply to be a moderator and be shot down at record speed :poot: Otherwise, just hit the report button and shut up about it. All these posts are serving to do is make an ass out of you for attacking the op.

I'm not attacking anyone. You on the other hand, have told me to shut up, told me to choke on a ****, called me an ass, and have made assumptions about my personal history with violence in order to make a point.

Perhaps you need a few moments away from the computer to compose yourself.

I recommend checking out the book Regarding The Pain of Others by Susan Sontag, she writes brilliantly about why we feel obligated to look at gruesome images, whether that desire is healthy, and what impact images of violence have on our culture and our culture's relationship to violence.

Not once have I.

Maybe you need a few moments away from the computer to examine the situation from positions other than your own. I also suggest you use your own critical thinking skills instead of taking what you read as absolute. As I previously stated the pictures are meant to help better empathize with the victim in question, which by all accounts, that worked because this thread has gotten much more support than threads on similar subjects have in the past.

Also at the risk of sounding rude, I have a tip for you: GaGa Daily is a very casual space where we use pictures of popstars and cats to communicate, the formal nature of your posts comes off as pretentious when you're in an environment where nobody else speaks that way.

When you told me to choke on a **** you weren't insulting me, you were making a point about violence against gay men? :toofunny:  Probably the funniest back peddle I have ever seen.

Have a lovely night Nino.
