Shameless plug: For Chrome, Firefox and Opera there is an extension by the Electronic Frontier Foundation called HTTPS Everyhwere, it tries to force websites to use the encrypted HTTPS protocol, to encrypt your web browsing a bit, I install it on every computer I can and it works great.
