lego 44,165
Reports from Turkey say there has been an explosion in the centre of Istanbul. The blast is said to have been a suicide bombing on a main shopping street in Taksim, a tourist area of Turkey’s largest city. Istanbul’s governor says four people are known to have died and 20 wounded, including three in a critical condition. It’s not known if those figures include the suicide bomber. Turkey’s Dogan news agency says three of those wounded are Israeli citizens. The governor has also said that rumours of attacks elsewhere in Istanbul are false. TV pictures show an area being cordoned off by police, reportedly in Istiklal Street, a wide pedestrian boulevard lined with international stores and shopping centres. Helicopters were seen circling overhead and people were seen running from the area. The area is usually crowded; hundreds of thousands are said to pass through every day. Turkey has been hit by a rising tide of violence in recent months. Last Sunday a car bomb tore through the Turkish capital Ankara, killing 37 people. The attack was later claimed by theTAK, an offshoot of the Kurdish militant group the PKK. Last month 28 people were killed and dozens wounded in an attack on a military convoy in Ankara. In October more than 100 people were killed in a double-suicide bombing at a Kurdish peace rally in the Turkish capital. Turkey has been fighting a security threat on several fronts. The authorities have been battling Kurdish militants mainly in the southeast of the country since the collapse of a ceasefire last July. Meanwhile several attacks have been blamed on the self-proclaimed Islamic State, operating from its base in neighbouring Syria. Reports say a broadcast ban has been imposed on Turkish media reporting the bombing, in line with restrictions brought in by President Erdogan’s government. http://www.euronews.com/2016/03/19/explosion-hits-central-istanbul-some-people-wounded-turkey-s-dogan-news-agency/ FreePalestine

I agree. they are the only ones fighting ISIS with success while turkey let yazidis being slaughtered. They are also normally really lgbt friendly and woman friendly and one of the few who aren't anti-semitic in the Middle East. It's time for Kurdistan. I really don't know how they want to achieve it with those terrorist attacks.

Hmm, most of the 'honor killings' come from people of Kurdish origin. I'm not saying most of them support it, but this backward custom comes more from them than from Turks or Arabs.
