Even celebrities can have suicidal thoughts. Being in the spotlight can either make you immune to criticism, or it can amplify your depression.

What do you mean "even"? All people are JUST people, at the end of the day. Known or not.

Is Rihanna ever suicidal? Beyonce? Katy? Taylor? Selena? Joe Jonas? Iggy? Anyone??? If so, they never talk about it with the people who love and worship them most: their fans. They're too busy creating an image of flawlessness. An illusion. Who does that help?

Playing the victim card isn't going to win the haters back. Some people (most of them in this thread apparently) will feel bad for her, but the majority won't. It's not unjustified hate. That's the thing...

While I do agree some of the comments towards her are a bit much from time to time, she's just done things that are inexcusable. Naomi Campbell made a mistake when she threw that phone at her assistant, Azealia Banks made a mistake when she smacked that security guard, Bieber made a mistake when he egged his neighbours house and Britney made a mistake when she planted that umbrella in the paparazzi car. Simple. But those are moments of "losing your sh*t", rage infused spats or misbehaviour. But what Iggy did is different just plain wrong. She was an up and coming rapper when she got on that Kendrick Lamar beat and said "I'm a runaway slave master". She wasn't angry like Azealia was when she has her Twitter rages or beat downs in nightclubs. She was focussed and consciously said those things. She looked seductively into the camera and made the whip motion when she said that line in the video. That's inexcusable. ESPECIALLY if you are a rapper. Rap music stems from black culture. I'm not saying she shouldn't be a rapper because of her skin color but don't dare to call yourself, a white woman in a pre-dominantly black industry, "a slave master". She should have known better. You can't tweet about an Asian lady sitting in the wrong seat on the airplane and say "Well, you gon' learn English today b*tch!" or that "Mexicans have a box body." She tweeted all of that, fully knowing she was (back then) a semi-famous rapper and on the bring of a commercial break-through. And yeah Azealia calls people "f*gg*ts" all of the time, but she's bisexual and 90% of her fanbase is gay. It's like gay men calling each other that. She's excused (not by everyone, obviously) because she's part of the community. There's this old clip of Madonna backstage at her tour trying on an accessory and her (gay) team is with her and she's asking their opinion on the piece. They said "no" so she said "Well, if two fags say it's not good, you can't wear it." Meanwhile she's been the biggest LGBT icon and defender since the 80's. In a time where it wasn't politically correct to support LGBT, she still did. So she, is excused for saying "fag". A guy walking down the street, isn't. Iggy Azealia on Twitter or in a song, isn't excused. It's about context, it's about learning what's the border between edgy, funny or whatever and being completely discriminatory and/or racist.

She knows damn well that if it wasn't for those tweets and the fact she sounds like a nasal woman from The Bronx on her songs, people would've given her a pass. She's not horrible, she makes bops from time to time, but she is no Kendrick Lamar, Lil' Kim, Lauryn Hill or Queen Latifah. She is a cute girl that has a sort of lighthearted pop/rap fusion. She isn't talking about life struggles like NAS or about black women's issues like Queen Latifah did. But that's not why she get's all the hate now. It's in addition to making racist comments in the first place. The black community has given loads of "passes" to white girls rapping. Look at Fergie. But all of that is going out of the window if Fergie tweets some stupid racist sh*t tomorrow.

All this bull about the hate in this video... "People hate me for different reasons. Some because of the music and the fact it's pop and sometimes because I'm not black..." Girl, please. You know damn well it started with the racist thing and all of the rest is in addition to that. When you're a new artist and when you're a white artist in a genre that stems from black culture, in a time where racism is one of the number one topics and actual riots are happening, you can't be a cute white rap/pop chick and say racist stuff. It's as simple as that. People saying she's not a real rapper and that she's not talented will always happen, that's not the core reason for the MASSIVE backlash. Many people hated on Nicki Minaj when she did Super Bass and Starships and blended rap with pop music... That will always happen when you fuse a hardcore genre with mainstream chorusses to get it to the masses. But Nicki got away with it and the hate didn't overtake her entire career because she's never said something discriminatory.

And don't quote me with that tweet where she apologises about the slave master lyric. I can feel Lance quote me as I type this. I'm waiting on a song where she truly lays it out bare, where she can spit bars with a good flow, rapping about these issues and seriously retract her obvious racist tweets and lyrics. Preferably also without sounding like a nasal African American New York woman with a vocal fry on top.

She needs to show respect for the community and lend her voice to the issues from a community and a genre that brought her the success she's had and quit the stereotype "black" rap voice. She knows damn well that's whats up.

Until that day, she'll be Igloo Racistralia and POC and others will not forgive her easily.

I don't know because I don't know them? I don't care either really, but being famous doesn't make you less likely than the average person to feel suicidal.

I'm not talking about celebrities being less likely to be suicidal, I'm talking about celebrities being less likely to talk about it.

I feel bad for her, honestly, 2015 felt like people were hating on her and they didn't even knew why, just to hate.

I remember this fanbase of ours lead that hate parade.

She didn't deserve the hate.

It's just trendy to hate on white people nowadays.

And Azealia Banks devoted her Twitter career to Iggy during that time helped.

However, Iggy's career is, well, pretty much done. Commercially speaking. I hope she finds something else to find fulfillment in.

OT: It made me sad to see her like this. All the negative comments towards her were not justified.

Blacks don't have a monopoly on rap music. UGH.

Shut the **** up. Iggy made a few mistakes, but that still doesn't give the media the right to destroy and humiliate her. What a disgusting post.
