About Gaga's tribute to David Bowie

First of all I personally loved the performance. Gaga did an excellent gob. 

Some people were upset. It was obvious that the reactions were not as good as the Super Bowl ones. 

So my question is (considering that I am not really familiar with Bowie's character and performances) did she actually do something wrong?  Or it was just Hate? 

People were totally okay with the brits tribute although the actual good part about it was Annie and Gary  (very touching) 

I repeat: did she actually do something Wrong (especially if you're a Bowie fan and / or familiar with him as a performer) or just hate (cause I've seen many of her good performance and this one -to me - is definitely one of them) ? (just in case if someone decided to post let it go)

It was good... Some people complained it used too much of his music but I guess I'm not easily bothered by things

First of all, no "real" David Bowie fans hated it.  When you love an artist and their music, you don't care if you're listening to a 5th grade band concert, or listening to a ring tone, it's good.  Every time I've seen a Gaga cover, I've appreciated it - and if it happens to be awful, then I just appreciate that someone was inspired and MOVE ON WITH MY LIFE.

I'd like to point out to them, that THIS is what Gaga did with the inspiration SHE got from David Bowie (not only the tribute, but becoming one of the biggest super stars in history).  So what have they done with the inspiration they got?  Became bitter complainers in the youtube comment section?

In all due respect, they need to have several seats.

This. I mean it's there opinion but that was a little rude. Like a small thank you wouldn't hurt at least for Nile who worked with him before.

Great thread. Thanks for sharing 😘 yup I read in many different articles that what they used wasn't simple (and how many things were used for the first time in a live performance)

I always knew that youtube's comment section is the darkest and most dangerous place on the Internet. But these ignorants really out did themselves.

I expect this stuff to be mainstream in about a year or two, and probably then everyone will praise this **** to haven and back, but Gaga being Gaga was just ahead of everyone else

the "bowie fans" on youtube say 2 things :

1) Gaga made it too much an act of her, she didnt make it a tribute to bowie

2) Gaga didnt do a good tribute because she was trying to be Bowie too hard, she should make it more of her own

not sure why those are completly the opposite

The majority of the performance was flawless, it had a little too many songs but other than that it was a really nice tribute. The only thing wrong everyone finds with it is Gaga, because Bowie very clearly avoided her while he was alive and there's no denying it. I feel so bad for her as most of their idols have turned their backs on her & Im glad she managed to perform a tribute for possibly her largest idol, but she was not the fitting choice for it.
