It's just his rhetoric. Don't act like you don't know this. OK I get it... I know many of you say he is fear mongering, playing on emotions, getting people riled up etc.... Sure maybe to an extent he has tapped into some emotions, but I think many Americans have been bitter about our country for a long time and we have been looking for the right guy who is going to clean house. Many view him as a pissed off American who's had it with the establishment and the politicians like the rest of us. Sure he can tone it down some. The man isn't perfect and I've seen A LOT of flaws in him. There are many things he should work on, but I see people mainly positive and happy and motivated. It's nasty out there. I guess people are gonna have to pick their poison.

Fear mongering, getting people riled up, promising to make a country great again in a political climate where a significant portion of the population (unjustly) thought that their government had failed them and people generally being fed up with a seemingly unproductive and "weak" establishment, looking for a "strong" leader that is able to clean house and sort out all of the "bad guys" who caused the country's "misery". Trump is nothing like Hitler. I'm shocked so many people think this. I know many Trump's in my life and none of them are bad people. They are just tough people who take no bs. Bernie Sanders yaps and rants and raves about a ton of things as well. He's got the same BASE angry and riled up too, but because he is a socialist nobody says anything. I'm not buying it. But oh well good discussion!

He's got the same BASE angry and riled up too, but because he is a socialist nobody says anything. I'm not buying it. But oh well good discussion! Sanders and Trump might both position themselves as anti-establishment as Sanders is for a Wall Street reform, but Bernie Sanders is not pandering to racists, mysogonists and xenophobes. This is where Trump's rhetoric is dangerous - he exploits people's racism and anger and sets up cultural scapegoats for them to take their anger out on. And yet nothing Trump says has consequence. His celebrity character lets him brush everything off as either not being serious, or just simply outspoken or non-pc. The man also frequently contradicts himself, and no one in the party will call him out on it. Either in fear that Trump will have one of his classic tantrums and bully/ridicule them in public, or because they don't care that he's inconsistent. It isn't very far fetched to picture illegal immigrants being pitted as scapegoats under a Trump presidency, the same way gay people have been under Putin the last few years. I doubt Putin gives two shits who's gay, it's about uniting angry people under a common 'enemy' and fueling nationalist ideology. Gays are stamped as a western invention in Russia, so not only are they a bad influence, they're un-Russian. And Putin doesn't have to even acknowledge the witchhunt that follows for these angry men to feel like they're doing Russia a favor. America had lynchings only two generations ago. They were real, and they were brutal. It's irresponsible to elect a president that the KKK have taken a liking to, regardless of what he says of them, as the endorsement itself goes to show the true appeal of his rhetoric.
