Dear Future Husband deserved so much better. :crossed:  It should have been the second single.

We have two selves. One the world needs us to be, compliant, and the shadow. Ignore it and life is forever suffering.

I absolutely loved "like I'm gonna lose you' the first time I heard it. I was shocked that it was doing so poorly. And then bam 2-3 months later it's in top 10. Well deserved tbh.:applause:

Meghan Trainor's "NO" has started reversing course. Some thought it would climb to #1, but it doesn't look that way now

Geez, "Mee Too" is plummeting off the charts just like "No". What is going on with Meghan Trainor

Me Too had a pretty decent longevity imo

It's only in its 15th week...

Thats a short run so far.

Even her worst performing song "Dear Future Husband" was on for 24 weeks.

i'm thinking "Me Too" will last to 20, because u have to be in the top 50 in order to be on the chart longer than 20 weeks.

Well her debut era was huge.

I somehow don't see Better turning out, well, better for her. Yo Gotti is hardly a big enough name to push this song on the rap feature alone. It's also released too late to benefit off the summery feel of it (she's not the only one to release a summery song at the end of summer, it's weird). As much as I hate it, I think Champagne Problems would have been a much better choice - it's one of the few songs off this album that I could genuinely see being a hit to some degree. I could totally see it becoming a viral hit and starting a YouTube tag and there would be parodies made for it (I could see one working off the idea of literal champagne problems like finding a reasonably priced one, keeping it cold, opening the bottle, getting used to the taste, etc!) I think this era was a big step back for her, with a lot of bad choices made in terms of musical direction, single choices, styling, promotion. It's a shame - her debut was all about being yourself and being a regular girl, now she's changed herself somewhat and is bragging in her songs about how she's wearing gold necklaces.

Example:

Lyric from Close Your Eyes (released on her EP and debut album): "I guess I could waste all my time and my money just trying to look right but it doesn't change who I am in my heart if I look like a dime."

Lyric from Me Too (released on her second album): "What's that icy thing hanging round my neck? That's gold! Show me some respect!"

And we wonder why these singles and album didn't sell as well? She's lost her original appeal.
