Dadru 2,372
Hi, I'm kinda new to this thread and the whole k-pop world so I thought it would be fun to get to know you guys a little better. Like what are your bias groups and how did you get into k-pop etc. For me it all started pretty recently (ending of 2019/January), a friend of me suggested me to listen to BTS and I already knew DNA so I decided to dive into their discography a little more... and the rest is history While I still love BTS, I kinda overplayed them a bit so I'm on a BTS break. Since a few months I've been listening to other groups such as EXO, TXT & NCT 127. I also like BLACKPINK but I realized I'm way more into boy groups. Right now my bias group is NCT 127 (Jaehyun as my AVI says enough ), because I think compared to other groups they experiment more and switch up styles. EXO is also one of my faves but since they're disbanding soon because of the military I thought it would be kinda sad to go in full stanning mode. So yeah that's it I guess , feel free to share your experience or other bands I should listen to Edited May 20, 2020 by Dadru 1

The first ever kpop song I heard was Dx4, and I instantly stanned For like most of April to June I just got into Blackpink as well as BTS (since they were the only other one I knew.) And then I started stanning TWICE, and then I became a multi stan. I'm not sure what attracts me to kpop, but the music, the videos, and of course the variety content are all very enjoyable. Plus being a multi stan in kpop definitely gives me more music and content than being just a Gaga stan with 16 songs every 2 years My bias group constantly changes, but these days LOONA is giving me everything I need EDIT: nnn I wrote 2020 instead of 2019, my mind Edited May 20, 2020 by Irrelevant 광야로 걸어가 알아 네 home ground

While with Gaga, I love her to death but sometimes I totally forget about her music like for example last week I stumbled upon a MTN performance & I completely fell in love with the BTW album all over again. Back to k-pop, I also agree with you on the visuals, video's, the members themselves.. Just the whole package is on point for me, I really enjoy that Edited May 20, 2020 by Dadru

PoshLife 16,980
My kpop story is a tale of woe... I used to be really into jpop but was vaguely aware of kpop because some kpop acts had released jpop albums (like BoA and Orange Caramel - I didn't even know they were Korean at first). It was really through the first iteration of this thread, which at the time was for both JPop and KPop, that I started stanning kpop, mostly because of a "Top 40 girl groups of 2012" video that PopReaper posted. I fell in love with a group called CHI CHI that I very quickly discovered had already disbanded, but through that same compilation video I discovered a bunch of other groups like Hello Venus, Nine Muses, Crayon Pop, and Tiny-G... all of whom have also disbanded by now In the coming months, through this thread and some other sites I followed at the time like AllKPop, I discovered more nugus to stan like WINGS, TINT, and 4Ten... all of whom have also disbanded by now But I do have autographed albums from each! I would probably say Orange Caramel was my ultimate bias group, especially in 2014 when they released a bunch of amazing songs, but they've disbanded by now I've also stanned Melody Day, f(x), Taeyeon, RaNia, HyoYeon, and Anda(miro)... some of which are still active! I still follow KPop pretty closely, but I honestly couldn't name a bias group anymore, I more just find individual songs I really like but I'm not so attached to any groups. I really don't like the current trend of wordless choruses and way too many girl crush concepts. At least they're finally starting to climb out of their Tropical House era.

During 2012, I was mostly following SNSD's and 2NE1's stuff and knew only a few other K-Pop songs/artists, then early 2013 I got into Brown Eyed Girls, then a couple of months later I began stanning SHINee, then f(x) and the rest is history. My top groups are SHINee and LOONA, but I'm also a big Red Velvet, NCT, Wonder Girls and KARA fan (besides the previously mentioned groups), and always check out BLACKPINK's, TWICE's and ITZY's releases. Like what are your bias groups and how did you get into k-pop etc. I remember watching 2NE1's "I Am The Best" and "Come Back Home" either because of a YT recommendation or someone making a thread on Gagadaily. I really liked it and checked out other groups but didn't like the sound the rest of K-pop had at the time. Years later, someone on Gagadaily recommended 4MINUTE's "Hate" which blew. me. away. I gave K-pop another chance and completely fell in love. Initially, I only liked girl groups (Girls Generation, EXID, Mamamoo, f(x), Wonder Girls, 9MUSES) but then I fell in love with boy groups as well (EXO, SHINee, BIGBANG). As of right now, I've never gone to a K-pop concert unfortunately. I have completely made up for it by buying albums tho Don't start, kids. Photo cards are a long-term trap. My current bias groups are BLACKPINK, CLC, NCT (all units tbh), SHINee, CIX, ITZY and A.C.E. If you're looking for some song recommendations, I've made a video that quickly showcases my top 100 songs of 2019: 2018: Edited May 20, 2020 by Martijn
