I know some of you want to let go of the ARTPOP era, but my friend just recorded his cover of Do What U Want, and I thought I wil post it on gagadaily, because it's realy good. Of course he's still learning, but the guy has IT.

Sugar, spice, and everything nice.

Did he raise the key of the Instrumental?

Critic:

I think his runs are a bit too much in the beginning and when his voice goes lower they sound really nasal.

During the Chorus, it's getting more and more nasal. a Tip is, that he tries projecting his sound through his diaphragm.

Other than that, when his vocals are not nasal, his tone is good and his belting is good.

He told me that he's not 100% proud of this, cause he hadn't have this ease in his voice for few days. I'm not a vocal expert, but really appreciate your point and will tell him about it. :D

He's pretty good, some hiccups, but good overall. Obviously the method of recording doesn't help him - he has potential. Honestly, I'd be interested in hearing him rerecord this a year from now to see how he improves in that time. He is off to a good start, good timing is something you have or you don't and he has that - everything else can be learned and improved though.
