People can deny all they want. People can fanboy their favs.

But if you deny Rihanna's power you're just deluded. Irrational. Dumb.

As for the people denying her talent, Christ yeah she ain't no opera singer but the girl can sing. Wake up and smell the coffee babe.

Those with their kindergarten arguements like she don't write her music etc. Do you think people listen to the radio and think I'll buy her song cause she wrote it? No they ****ing dont. She sells and she sells far more than your fav so stay pressed and stay on the subject topic.

She is a very famous musician, she is a very powerful person in the industry, but she is NOT the biggest global artist right now.

That title would belong to either Adele or Taylor Swift, maybe Beyoncé but still probably not. Rihanna failed to sell impressively this era, both album and tour sales, because she went her own artistic direction and dropped the manufactured pop beats - this is only evidence the public are not here for her but rather for her pop music.

Do you know what shows Rihanna's status? She sells music, she has catchy hits. People are here for her music. But her tours... mess. She just posposed a whole tour to change dates from stadiums to arenas. People like her music (well, it would be more appropiate to call it: the singles she releases. Not her music), but they don't care about her. Ence why she doesn't have any impact besides bops that people like to dance to.

Get back to me when Taylor are on their 8th album. Trends fade, artists fade. She's a household name and has been for a decade.

She puts in more creativity through song writing, experimenting with sounds etc for Anti and she still gets bashed.

Also your last point; do you think Gaga or any of these other pop bitches would sell **** loads if it wasn't for their pop music? The clue is in pop music.

What it clearly shows to me is Rihanna this time around couldn't care about sales but wanted to show musical integrity by going down a different route. Probably for herself. Anti is selling as is Work.

Her tours are messy? In what sense? Organisation? Hmm

Diamonds world tour, her last one btw - broke multiple records. People spent money to go and see Rihanna, funnily enough.

How do you measure impact besides bops, sales, sell out tours as a musician? I mean apart from her fashion icon status too.

How many platinum singles over how many years does it take for a pop singer to prove their impact? I'm so confused

Rihanna is a household name but she doesn't have the appeal that you think she has. Anti's performance is a clear reminder that she is not the force people thought her to be.

I am not bashing her music, I don't hate her music, I don't hate her, I'm just explaining how in my opinion she is definitely not the biggest artist at this point in time.

Biggest artists in each year

2008: Britney Spears

2009: Rihanna/Britney

2010: Lady Gaga

2011: Lady Gaga

2012: Lady Gaga

2013: Lady Gaga

2014: Katy Perry

2015: Taylor Swift/Justin Bieber

2016: Rihanna but gaga is coming back

Gaga is still the Queen. And she's coming back! Hopefully she'll stay on top again for years and years. Btw, 2008 (Britney's era) brings back some serious nostalgia.

Diamond Heart

Shes definitely the most widely appealing musician. Im not sure if shes the 'biggest' female artist out there, but shes definitely top 3.

Her sales might have declined dramatically with her newest release but that is all down to the mess of the album campaign and the album not being very radio friendly.
When/if she comes back with a pure pop album with bops, she will see the success she has seen previously.

That's absolutely fine, I would agree that Adele IS the biggest force out there right now but she's fresh. She doesn't have an array of albums, her albums so far have no direction they're very much same but absolute smashes. 7 albums down the line you've gotta change something. Which Rihanna's done and it's still selling.

But by the same standards Gaga doesn't have the appeal people like to believe in here then, cause ARTPOP was nothing to brag about, based on performance especially singles. But similarily it wasn't mainstream, much like Anti but I don't believe one experimental album is a sign of appeal based on its sales.

Beyonce is local. Period. P E R I O D

I don't know from where you get that thought, but I do recall her selling out stadiums and arenas rather fast even in places like Netherlands, UK in minutes

Serendipity

lemme just put something down

I don't know what makes you believe that she is the biggest artist in the world, but if you suggest sales, know that even Taylor Swift has outsold her everytime (with the exception of perhaps 2010)

Songwriting skills:

hmmmm, I don't think she has much, other than some co-writing on ANTi, while even her peers like Britney can write self penned songs completely without any co writer

Dancing skills:

not bad, but nothing exceptional on the level of Bey, Britney

Vocal skills:

I'm glad she has improved from here, but even today, they are nothing extraordinary

all in all, she may be an icon, but she certainly isn't a legend

I'm rather impressed that she has survived so long in the industry and keeps churning out hits:applause:

another threatened Beyonce fan here. Rihanna is legendary already she has been the radio for over a decade in the age we live in this is legendary where there is less and less consistency in everything she has an iconic look she is so popular. There is no reason as to why anyone could say she isn't a legend

Well. Did you lost your punctuation? Her act is too young to be considered legendary. Are you even serious?

Sugar, spice, and everything nice.
