froot 659
So over all the pregnancy rumors I remembered after Lola (Lourdes) was born Madonna went to a very spiritual and peaceful route (and then ruined it with Music but), I was wondering what if Gaga went down a spiritual route, like she has been doing Yoga, so what if she went to do a meaningful album (not saying her other albums aren't meaningful) like an album full of stripped vocals and stripped looks. Or what if she did an album like Erotica now damn! That would be messy with the Madge fandom but it would be very interesting, like a rich kind of tone to the music and like erotic pictures but not too erotic like Madge. It would be a very conceptional album and very interesting to see in this day and age and how the comments have changed since the 90s. What do you think? feel the fever

It was considered her flop, the lowest selling album she had ever had back then, but not because of the music. More because of her. She released the SEX Book at the same time and came out with an erotic thriller at the same time that bombed. The public were tired of her and felt she had gone too far and that carried over and affected the album sales. I think it only sold like four million -- edit. It has sold six million now . The sad thing was the album was very good and got good reviews and was not just about sex at all, but about sex, desire, love, broken heart, betrayal, death, and was another step in evolution as far as a more polished mature sound and serious subjects, like losing someone close to her from AIDS. The album incorporated elements from disco, modern house, techno and new jack swing. But all the tie-ins with the book and movie were just overload and the public were over her. They said she was over. I still love the song Erotica that she's singing as her alter-ego, Dita, and some of the remixes. I haven't listened to the album in quite a while, though. And she did some great music videos for that album. She was ballsy releasing that as its first single, a song about pain and pleasure regarding sex. Harry 26,836
I wouldn't want her to copy Ray of Light but I'd love it if she took a similar direction. It's one of my favourite albums ever so that would be amazing.
LePetitGAGABLover 21,234
NOOOOOOOOO. I don't want ANYTHING RELATED TO Madonna. That almost ruined her career once.

And it is so relevant with the things that are happening today in the US. I feel like the album would have been a huge success if it was release today, or at least it would have caused a lot of buzz . Red 97,985
I don't think it is the case, it is not like she suddenly started doing yoga and talk about meaningful songs, she does yoga and talks about meaningful music since TF, lol If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating. Lucas 26,992
Erotica is my fav Madonna album but it really had a bad impact on Madonna's career so...I love how risky it was. Still Gaga should go in her own direction and write/sing about what she wants^^ there are already too many Madonna comparisons.

She's in a good, loved-up relationship. Madonna was writing from a different perspective, a more melancholy period after a breakup.
