They are saying that considering how badly received or controversial ANTI, Pablo and Formation were it is very dangerous to release new music.  This is correct, it is dangerous,  she is safe at the minute singing covers,  it's when people can judge original music that it'll become dangerous.  It is a risk,  one that she will inevitably have to take.

They make a good point, but I agree with you that it'll be good if she takes that risk, especially if it's good music.

The conversation Formation stirred up made me want Gaga to push that envelope again. I'm really glad Beyonce pushed that conversation with police brutality and Black pride- now I want Gaga to do the same with whatever message she's gunning for.

They are not trying to discourage her, they are explaining how she's using all the good press to become the Gaga on top again instead of the Lady on top, which she'll achieve by releasing original album

Well, yes and no.  If the single doesn't take off, that will be a holding breath moment.  But if the album as a piece of work is lauded by critics it can overcome a not-number-one single.
