Moon was excellent, and I've rewatched it several times. Source Code, I thought was good at the time, but it hasn't stuck with me in the same way.

well, actually, there are rare examples of good movies that are based on videogames - like Resident Evil (the first movie, the rest are crap), Silent Hill (also only first one, the second was horrible) and Mortal Kombat (once again, only the first movie).

I kinda enjoyed D.O.A. as well (Dead or Alive) - but that's probably only because I'm a fan of Charlie's Angels sort of girl power movies :emma:

I don't think those were good movies, tbh...

The Silent Hill one broke my heart :air: I had such big expectations.
First of all, turning Harry into a woman...I get why they did it, but that messes up the story...then that Dahlia is just laughable, she looks like the Simpson's crazy cat lady...idk, the whole thing is just too campy...the only memorable thing of that movie was pyramid head ripping that girl's skin off...

The sad part is that now Konami is in bad shape and Silent Hill, the franchise, has been sort of abandoned...Kojima, who was capable of reviving the series left...I just wish they'd sell it out and allow other ppl to reboot it and re-do SH1 and 2...and a new movie would be great too, just let someone who gets horror and gets the feeling of that game do it...David Lynch, that's who should direct it.

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

PS: I love the first Charlie's Angels movie too :flutter: (the second one makes me want to jump off the side of a mountain...)

Well, he never struck me as a particularly great director and I was never too crazy about Warcraft either, so the whole thing never excited me, tbh...and, as a gamer, after watching so many of my favorite games be destroyed on the big screen, I tend to think any game-based movie is a bad idea...I hope the upcoming Assassin's Creed movie proves me wrong :wtfga:

Off topic, but still on the matter: Game-based series, that's what could work...you'd have enough time for exposition (and we know games need that - the first gameplay hours of any game are basically being explained what that world is and how you fit int it), you'd have time for people to bond with the characters, you'd have time to properly explore their fictional world, etc.. A Fallout or a Red Dead series would be amazing!

Back to topic: And, honey, calm down. It wasn't a major shade and nobody cares about it...don't make it a big deal in your head, just go watch the movie and try to enjoy it, if you like Warcraft.

From my thought "director" is the one that for responsibility for movie best or worst fun or not

yes producer and writer have a big part but director is the one that lead direction and  vision you get it right?

problem with game-based movie are low budget / bad director and bad production

this applies with novel-based movie

example silent hill 1 and 2 with different director even the first one is not the best but pretty cool transition but second one was such a mess

Imagine If someone like sam raimi / guillermo del toro / nolan / david fincher or ridley scott directed movies everything it pretty less chance to go wrong right?

So when blizzard change sam raimi too duncan jones i really felt off

and when him pay gaga to dust i cant help but feel negative toward him more

:duck:
