"Lady Gaga doesn't think the government should be deciding whether or not crimes happened"

https://www.reddit.com/r/TumblrInAction/comments/46q501/lady_gaga_doesnt_think_the_government_should_be/

A post was created on Reddit with that title, based on this image :

They are completely missing the point :duck:

Gaga said they should help the victim first and provide him or her with help but the Redditors thought she meant people should get charged for rape without any proof.

One of the images is being shared on Facebook and it's so out of context.

She is saying we should help the victim first before we even consider the evidence.

The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

How are people not understanding what she is saying? She is clear in the way she speaks and she expressed the idea eloquently. Also, why are people not agreeing with her?

People on sites like reddit usually tend to love tearing down ""SJWs"" regardless of point or reason, so I'm not surprised.

With all honesty, Gaga was wrong to phrase it that way. The government is the final arbiter and it's best for all of us that way.

I get what she meant anyway. I'm just saying that celebs should be extremely careful of what they say.

That picture is out of context, and espesially the first one makes it as if Gaga is a comunist or something :rip:

Not for anyone who has a brain. I can look at that picture and understand the context perfectly. It's just a case of more people desperately searching for something to be offended by and bitch about.

What you were wearing is not beside the point though

Yes...Yes it is... :wtf::wtf::wtf:

A woman could be walking butt ass naked down the street and that still doesn't excuse a man from going up to her and touching/penetrating her without consent. Dressing "provocative" is not saying "come and get it!"

I'm subscribed to TiA and I was like "Nooooooo" when I saw it. Thank god she's getting good publicity at the Oscars so this can be swept under the rug :wtf:

Do you sometimes live in the real world, or are you just in this internet space?

That is not realistic and you know it

I agree Brainiac!!! Gaga should have just summarised her point by saying that we shouldn't trivialize the victim's plight by asking value-neutral questions. Questions should be kept objective, straightforward, relevant, non-condescending and unassuming.
