Why wasn't this in the performance?? Did something went wrong?

The thing he did with the finger to draw holograms. It's cool AF! Why is it here if Gaga didn't even make use of it then?? 

But if you look at the performance especially around Fashion and Under Pressure/Let's Dance sections, Gaga seems to be doing some very weird dance moves while waving her hands around. I'm starting to think that holograms were supposed to appear when she moves her hands around her but the effect didn't work.

IKR? something happened. Some concepts were scrapped, we got a light version of all this intel's technology. Hope she can use it better for LG5. Because what we saw last night was kinda...cheap

I just updated my post. I'm starting to think that something really wrong with the performance, like maybe some effects broke down. Also if you look towards the end of the video, the effects in the rehearsal looked much stronger. The David Bowie face hologram was brighter. Gaga's hand effects also seems to be working.

Mmm I imagine there was supposed to be some sort of manipulable effect when she began flailing her arms?

I'm wondering whether there was a tracking issue as the face projection had sketchy moments and that had a small area of focus? I'm guessing whatever they were using to detect the ring's movement was failing to pick up on them.

They were probably just in the stage of deciding which technology to use. Maybe these didn't make the cut.

I honestly think that something went wrong regarding the technology. Plus, remember that some of the technology shown in this video was probably going to be used in whatever Gaga had originally planned for her performance but had to scrap last minute due to David Bowie's tribute. With all of that being said, we did still see the facial projections (which were killer) and the dancing piano so it's not like we saw nothing amazing

Ok I looked more closer at the real performance and I realised that towards the last song hologram smoke was actually 'coming out' of her fingers. But many times the smoke just go wherever the f*** it wants, and no one probably even noticed that effect as it's so dim...

I think that if we had an audience view of the performance we could appreciate the effects more. It looks like the lights used for the show move at the same time as the dancers, but I can't see that on the video.

I assumed it was the smoke she was to try and manipulate  I thought it was weird it was spending quite long periods just kind of sat infront of her, although like you said, it's very easy to look past

As far as the interactive 3d hologram/illusion effects go I think the spotlight and stage lights washed them out so they were barely if at all visible, which is a shame cause they really are stunning, the producer and set crew should've thought about that beforehand, nonetheless amazing performance from gaga, LEGEND!

That's what I think too. I believe the effects were better seen by the people in the audience.
