oh ffc we can't even laugh anymore? have jokes? every insecure person is trying so hard to be offended from nothing.

Disabled people are normal and we should treat them as normal people, that means even to make a nice not-offending jokes about them.

To overprotected them from this will only harm them!

So enough!!

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

I think some people need to learn the subject a bit before announcing it highly offensive :emma:

Born Brave

I used to speak to Emma quite a bit, we even had like this 35 minute discussion about politics on a video chat after Radio ARTPOP one night.. and of course no one should speak for her but if I'm not mistaken she picked the emoticon for it's existence? It used to be : emma : am I wrong ?

I understand what you mean, it seems kind of odd that an emoticon used to express that feeling of "What? / I can't" is one in a wheelchair but it's kinda complicated.

I imagine it will be removed in the future as the story of it is sweet but it will lose that reference over time, like it has for some members here already.

how is this offensive...

If somebody had only one leg would it be good to make fun of him by making an emoticon with one leg?! A matter of health is not funny! Ppl should not be defined/described  by their disabilities, many of them are staying all day at their home because there's no access for them in the public space ...like in my country! And of course many of them they were bullied at school!

A representation of someone in a wheelchair or an emoticon isn't necessarily offensive though.

It's not mocking and it's not making fun of people in wheelchairs, it's literally just a smiley face in a wheelchair.

Your criticisms:
"you define someone by the way he/she can/can't walk?" No? That's not what this emoticon is about... She chose the emoticon herself.

"Is it supposed to be even funny or cool?" Not more so than any other emoticon...

I would absolutely get the criticism if Emma wasn't involved in the decision and she found it objectionable, but it's the emoticon she chose herself. :emma:

it's politically incorrect which means it's not offensive only for Emma (even if she has no problem with it) but for ALL the people with disabilities in general!

We hardly have any emoticons left. :duck:

I think you are taking it too literally. It's just an emoticon that has developed a special meaning for one particular fanbase. No offense meant and since Emma has approved of it I don't see a problem.
