Is it just me or is it kinda wasted that Gaga had to do the Bowie tribute?

I think it wouldnt have included new music, maybe an instrumental at most. I had a feeling the Intel performance was mostly digital and much smaller, probably not even focussing on music but more on technology innovation and spreading love, since it was tied to the BTW foundation. I think it will be incorporated in the musical performance, maybe as part of the backdrop. 

And I'm not too concerned with the rushing this time. She has weeks to get ready and it seems she has (enough) creative control. 

I'm happy Intel was willing to cooperate, it's their money after all and they made a deal with Gaga. Not many companies are that flexible and respectful to the artists wishes.

My dad watched the whole AHS season because Gaga was in it, he's not a fan but he was curious about her acting. He's a fan of Bowie and now he can't wait to see her doing that tribute. If even my dad who is in his 50s is expecting her to do a good thing, this answers you completely.

Yeah to be honest I'm not a fan of bowie and I'm sad she's wasting an Intel performance on some random ass tribute.

I hope that she did not scratch out an already planned - practiced performance to make it a Bowie tribute. 

Because we know that not well practiced performances are always messy no matter how talented Gaga is. On the other hand, well prepared performances like Oscar performance got extraordinary praise. 

Madonna equation. She literally owes her career in 21th century to well produced and prepared performances. No matter how talented a performer is, hard-working and practice makes performances perfect... 

Gaga is nailing everything recently if intel performance can reach up to hype intel created, it will be amazing. I also hope that Gaga practices herself to sing US National Anthem at superbowl like she did for oscars. It is (I guess) the most watched TV broadcast in whole US in a year, her nailing national anthem like oscars would make patriot football guys consider buying her albums. There will be lots of people watching her singing national anthem who have no interest in watching Grammys or Oscars...

I wouldn't say "wasted" because it's such a huge honour and Gaga's openly voiced her admiration for David Bowie and how he served as such an important inspiration  Does this change in the performance make me curious in a way about what was going to happen had it not been the Bowie tribute and what the original plan was and wanting to see it roll out? Definitely yes  But then that's with anything really, loads of Gaga's performances haven't been what was initially planned, changes happen and we kinda just have to accept them unfortunately  I wonder what Gaga performances we've missed in that alternate universe  I just really hope the late change won't be at the detriment of the performance and it won't come off rushed

You are just assuming that she was going to perform or give us a hint on LG5. And intel already said that there wasn't new music coming from Gaga with that project. So... from that on, your whole point is invalid.

I don't care if she was going to do a TIHTY, her own singes medley or IWYL... the Bowie performance will have more impact.

At the end of the day, at least this day we will get new music. Apparently the intel perf wouldnt have given us new music, now we will have Bowie songs but Gaga's version so they might actually be listenable. It's actually a good thing.

It is never a waste to pay respect to a legend who is gaga's biggest influence, in terms of music, persona and fashion. Bowie deserves the tribute as big as that; without him, there will never be a gaga.
