Morphine Prince 106,586
Gerald Molen, a voting member of the Academy who earned a best picture Oscar for producing Schindler’s List, has some very choice words for the “spoiled brats” who are crying racism over the lack of diversity in the nominations this time around. “There is no racism except for those who create an issue. That is the worst kind. Using such an ugly way of complaining,” Molen told The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday. “The idea of a boycott is ridiculous,” Molen said. “Are their noses bent out of shape by the award nominations? Of course. That is normal in a town of egos and red carpet desires. While there were many performances of note, not all my choices for ‘best’ in the various categories have been realized." “But even then it is not like he has been ignored or overlooked in the past. I understand his disappointment but see no prejudice or racism in his not making it. Who knows, maybe he lost by one vote,” said Molen. “I say to all my co-members: 'stop acting like spoiled brats. Look to the next awards show for recognition – if you deserve it’.” Source: https://www.yahoo.com/movies/oscar-winning-producer-denounces-spoiled-brats-crying-racism-150000523.html

Ray of Light 8,134
I agree. Why boycott the Oscars when your ass is gonna sign that white-driven, multi-million dollar movie deal as soon as it comes your way?

I'm not entirely sure where I stand exactly. Same. Although this boycott is just making them look like jealous whiners (according to a lot of normies who gave their opinion on facebook posts). Hell, an article saying Will Smith was joining his wife had nothing but negative comments saying he's just mad 'cause he wasn't nominated. They should go and continue to be vocal about the issue. You don't deserve an award just because you're skin is darker and you're not entitled to a nomination based on your race. At the same time, Hollywood should make more of an effort to step away from social norms and stereotypes so we can have more roles for more people. Diversify a little. Not only for the sake of not being called racist but just to make more movies interesting so you don't call the entire movie's events based on what the actors' skin colors are. It's boring and it's the same thing every. Single. Time. You're stinky
