DiscoHeaven23 35,007
These are Mariah Carey's week to week singles performances in the 21st Century. From the Rainbow era to the #1 to Infinity greatest hits album. -The Rainbow era was interesting because peak wise it looks impressive but the songs didn't have as much longevity in the top 10 and on the chat than one would think. I was in 2nd grade during that era and I barely remember "Heartbreaker" and don't remember the other two, and I remember most songs from that time. But i think Britney and Christina overshadowed Mariah during this time. At least in my age group. The more I think about it, i think Britney and Christina might be indirectly responsible for Mariah's demise in the early 2000's. Mariah never really had competition from other pop girls in the 90's and then those girls came along. -Poor Glitter era -Poor Charmbracelet era -I felt so excited when i was making this when I came to The Emancipation of Mimi era. I was so happy for her, for her comeback. I think its one of the best, if not the best, comebacks ever. -Anyone have insight into why "It's Like That" went top 20, which is okay, but then "We Belong Together" came in and destroyed careers? What was it about that song? Is it just because its a good song? -"We Belong Together"'s reign took away an additional 6 weeks that "Hollaback Girl" could've been #1 for. It also kept 4 songs from going #1: "Inside Your Heaven" by Bo Bice, "Pon de Replay" by Rihanna, "Don't Cha" by the Pussycat Dolls, and her own "Shake It Off". -"We Belong Together" was the top song of the 2000's. -I wonder why "Say Somethin'" flopped? It was the fifth single from a highly successful album. -"Touch My Body" and Madonna's "4 Minutes" were competing against each other in the Top 10 for a few weeks. -"Bye Bye" deserved better. -I was listening to "Obsessed" during this and realized how popular auto-tune was in the late 00's in order to get that futuristic sound (Lady Gaga's impact), because most of "Obsessed" is auto-tuned. Like Mariah Carey and auto-tune?? -Her single "H.A.T.E.U." which didn't chart so deserved to be a hit. -I didn't realized till this that Nicki Minaj wasn't originally on "Up Out My Face" (that song was bad, in my opinion) -"#Beautiful" should've been top 10. -Her poor singles career now RAINBOW Heartbreaker (1999/2000) *8 weeks in Top 10* 1st Week: #60 2nd Week: #30 3rd Week: #23 4th Week: #23 5th Week: #16 6th Week: #1 - She'll have more albums with lead singles that will chart between 100 and 50. But i think she's headed to that Barbra Streisand stage of her career. The only way i think she can have a comeback is if she follows the trends of today and Mariah typically isn't like that. I had read somewhere that the record label wanted her to use edm in her songs and she was completely against it. She's had a good run and there's no shame in that. Maybe if she collaborates with a popular-atm person. Well I am sure I don't want Rebel Heart by Mariah Shameless selfpromo

I am Mariah. flopped because she broke her hand, couldn't shoot the additional video and couldn't do much promotion (that's why beautiful 'flopped'). Infinity just sounded tooo 2005 to be a hit, yet it outpeaked every single from the Rebel Heart. People are here for Mariah, she just needs to work on her Album with good producers and a good A&R. Now that she's back with Sony and has a whole new team, we can hope for a new album end of next year. ⟡ ⋆ ˚。⋆🦢⋆ ˚。⋆⟡

Serendipity 7,821
her label was a mess SS was TEOM's lead, then changed to SIo to ILT Loverboy/Firecracker sample controversy pretty much a lot of factors Migrate should've been lead rather than TMB which sounds like a filler at best Crybaby/CTTA mess and her Sony controvesry See talent here-->http://bit.ly/2eqeUxK
