Born Brave

Bjorks music is not artistic.. im sorry.. my 3 year old niece has more vocal talent than her and her production is always amazing but her voice sounds like nails on a chalkboard next to it.. Vulcinara is a trainwreck tbh.

I've never listened to Bjork consistently. She has an annoying voice, at least to me. It's not as pleasant as Gaga's.

Don't know much about her impact on music, although I do know she was a force.

and I can assure you there are many people around the world who don't care about Gaga

Not caring about an artist and not knowing who they are/ different situations.

You said that many people don't know who Gaga is...that's the statement that is hard to believe.

Seriously. Even my Lebanese grandma knows her and she hasn't watched TV in years.

Although she calls her "ledy dagaga" which translates to Lady Chicken in formal arabic :air:

There are several places in the world where pop music is looked down upon

and some simply, don't like Pop music

Why are we bringing threads over from ATRL? Who cares what those miserable Drama Queens think anyway?

I'm sure it is, but that doesn't mean people wouldn't know who Gaga is! I'm sure that if you found an area of the world that didn't know the name Gaga, the chances of them knowing someone like Bjork would be even more common.

Pacify Him

The thing with Bjork is that she is the most alternative artist ever. One minute, she is singing melodies, the next, very hard rock. Sure her songs weren't catchy, but they pack a whole meaning. It's almost as if she is singing to the music being produced.

This is coming from someone who just started listening to her for 2 weeks :toofunny: I'm so late. I find it very difficult to get into her style before too.

I’m getting on your nerves

Well, maybe it is, but I dunno. Your replies are a weird way of jumping around the actual result (and the question). I mean, if I made a poll comparing Donald Trump to Martin Luther King (probably to mock the former and glorify the latter) would you say I paid Donald a compliment too?

If anyone mentions "legendary" next to the word Björk they're referring to artistic innovation, quality and acclaim since there's nothing else about her that is necessarily legendary (she doesn't have explosive commercial success in any way, she is relatively unknown in a social media frenzy sense and she's more uncredited for paving the way for artists than that she is), so I think it's obvious this poll was made to discuss how Björk is superior in this sense to Gaga and to expose the idiots who think Gaga achieved more artistically than her.

Take it as you will, but I'd still like it if you said something about the comparison instead of evading it by turning the whole thing into something else.

:saladga: ... it's an irrelevant ATRL poll. I don't know if that's the reason why the post exists, and apparently neither do you. Nor do I really care. If it is, if there is an overriding, mocking context I'm missing, then I misunderstood. I've never visited ATRL before. lol

Bjork's a legend and absolutely amazing.

Gaga's a legend-in-the-making and absolutely amazing.

They are both wonderful musicians and should both be appreciated!

Well, I respect your opinion and I get where it comes from but I don't really understand why you'd call a universally acclaimed album a trainwreck just like that :emma:

Her voice is unique indeed and I don't know how technically sound it is but the whole point of her artistry is that it doesn't matter. Her voice is a creative vehicle and she does what she wants with it to further emotional expression. Vulnicura is the prime example of that.

So sure, you don't like her voice, but that doesn't diminish her artistic achievement: she just tries to do something you don't like. For the people who appreciate her goal, she is a ****ing monster. Vulnicura has been described by many (like me) as an absolutely devastating piece that flows over with beauty and heartbreak. So I find it a bit ugly that you just shove that away with a quick "her voice is terrible" comment.

As for production: she always co-produces and is in 100% creative control so even if you don't like her voice, you should still credit her for everything else. So saying her entire music is unartistic because you don't like the sound of her voice is just absurd when you then go on to praise her own productions. Y'know?

I concede to the fact that you're right, I was a bit harsh
