See You Again is piece of sh*t.

Gaga knows a lot of people from The Academy. They love her.

Wow, there are Earned It and See You Again, I would like for Gaga to win but like ya know it's not the best song in the world

Til It Happens To You >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> See You Again imo

I'd rather Earned It win than See You Again

The Predicted Five:
1. "Til It Happens To You" (The Hunting Ground)
2. "See You Again" (Furious 7)
3. "Simple Song #3" (Youth)
4. "Love Me Like You Do" (50 Shades of Grey)
5. "So Long" (Concussion)

I think that's a realistic list. I'd consider Flashlight a possible nominee but isn't Pitch Perfect that awful comedy film? The Academy will probably not have that.

Pitch Perfect is a good film (well, not a good film exactly, but it's quite funny). I don't think it's serious enought to win an Oscar, though.

IDK will they go for popularity of song or quality:flop:

I didn't mention Love Me Like You Do because it's kinda bad pop song and I see  some sort of quality in Earned It and See You Again

I'm curious which Fifty Shades song makes the cut. Both Love Me Like You Do and Earned It were hits and both relevant to the movie.

Yeah, it's a shame the song was wasted on that movie. Besides, I'd be happy to see Jessie J nominated for an Oscar. And Sia and Sam Smith wrote it, so that 3 big names in one nomination. So maybe it IS a possibility, given that the Oscars still need to draw in ratings and publicity.

My pick if The Academy is going for the ratings:
Till It Happens To You
See You Again
Love Me Like You Do or Earned it
Writing's On The Wall
Flashlight

So if the song actually won, Sia, Sam Smith and Jessie J would win an Oscar (because they are three)?

No, since The Academy only gives the actual Oscar to the writers. So the Oscar would go to Sia, Sam Smith and the other two writers, and they'd each get one. But Jessie would probably be given the chance to perform the song and she'd be like an honorary winner.

Madonna for instance didn't write Sooner or Later but the song won an Oscar after she performed it earlier in the show. So in theory, she didn't win an Oscar, but given she was the performer, she's considered a winner. It's weird to explain but The Academy only nominates the writers. Which is a stupid rule if you ask me, the performer ultimately makes the song what it is. It happened twice for Madonna by the way, You Must Love Me from Evita also won an Oscar six years after Sooner or Later and she performed it, it won, but she doesn't have an Oscar. It's the weirdest thing.
