Instead of warning Hunt against taking risks, “I was saying, ‘Please, let’s go further.’ ” As McAnally points out, it took confidence for Hunt to align himself with a songwriter who was gay, out and not entirely proven. “Six years ago, that wasn’t the smartest move. Today, it doesn’t take courage to work with me. Back then, he was one of a few -- and definitely the only man.” YAAAAAASSSS I found the article. Sam definitely comes off as an open-minded person. I'm glad. Some more choice quotes (not LGBT-related): Hunt brings in influences from black culture and mixes them with modish imagery that doesn’t fit the old-fashioned norms of country masculinity, which require trucks, boots, beer and/or whiskey, and cute (but modest) girls in shorts. “Respect for women was a very important part of my upbringing, (...) [t]he women in my life demanded that from me.” “Traditionally,” says Hunt, “music has been a means of separating ourselves as people from another group of people. And now, music is starting to blend in a way that doesn’t allow us to do that as much.” His band is performing beneath a banner with Hunt’s name and two rows of pastel flowers, a design the singer proposed after noticing an emerging trend for floral fashions. Can you name a male country singer who’s flowery? We’ll wait. + an additional photo not present in the article The cap says "femme" and features two interlocking female symbols. -- I'm not trying to glorify Sam. After all, respect for other groups of people is the baseline for basic human decency, but it seems like some people () think that Sam has certain views just because he's a country artist. It's clear that he is more open-minded than he appears. He respects other groups of people and he doesn't fit the macho country stereotype. I feel like Sam Hunt, Taylor Swift, and Kacey Musgraves are part of a new generation of country artists who are more liberal and thus more palatable to left-leaning music fans. How exciting! Also.. Mcánally I'm not a woman. I'm not a man. I am something that you'll never understand.

Mcánally All so good, going on Amazon now to find a poster of him for my room. lolol It's sad that theres a lot of homophobia in the country music industry, but I did read that two big male names in country music also support LGBT people: Garth Brooks and Tim McGraw. So thats encouraging. Almost every known female country singer was on that list too lol.
