It would have dropped like 80% if it wasn't for her . Her medley was the most talked about moment of the night, and it was right at the end... Shows and movies. “In social media, 21 million people had 58 million interactions (posts, comments, likes) related to the Oscars on Facebook on Sunday. The top moment was Lady Gaga’s medley from “The Sound of Music” and Julie Andrews joining her on stage, which drew 214,000 per minute globally and 145,000 per minute in the States; this was also the top moment on Twitter for the night." --according to variety.com

But i also don't think that the oscars have fans, or is a TV show. I mean, it's very appealing to the GP, everybody watches them. The problem is that 2014's show was hosted by Ellen (and threw the highest ratings in a decade for an oscar gala) and 2015 by that fool and uninteresting imo of Neil Patrick Harris. Also, 2014 nominated movies (Gravity, American Hustle, The Wolf of Wall Street, 12 years a slave, etc) were far more known by people than 2015 (Birdman, Selma, American Sniper, Whiplash, Boyhood, etc). That's something we should take into account
