David Spade Criticizes Barack Obama for Being 'Media Thirsty'

"I criticized Obama [in a tweet on Dec. 14] because I thought, you know, a President should have a little more dignity. I mean, I realized Woodrow Wilson went on 'Dancing With the Stars' once, but what President's doing reality shows? It sounds weird to me, and it's just too much. I think, you know, Michelle Obama's on 'Ellen' more than I am. I mean, what First Lady?" Spade ranted.

The actor continued, "It just seems a bit thirsty to me. That's all. I think they're going to do fine, but they're sort of plotting for after the White House. Like he's on GQ. Leave that to Bradley Cooper. You don't need that, you're the President. You're above all of us. You're above stars, you're above everything.

Lol IDK though, I kinda agree with the guy. I think the President has pretty good intentions. I mean, isn't reality tv a great way to reach out to the modern generation? But IDK, he seems to be overdoing it.

It's ok for him to have an opinion...I've heard sort of the same stuff before - and from liberal, progressive people, by the way...

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

Don't know whether or not to agree.

On the one hand I like that it breaches their impenetrable aura, but on the other hand he really does hold a superior, impenetrable position and I don't want people to forget he makes decisions that impact all of our lives, and not necessarily in a good way. Seeing him as this good old chap that also, coincidentally, runs the country works too effectively as an evasion of brutal scrutiny and I don't like that.

Then David can take some notes on that since I haven't heard about him since mid 2000s hPh3VaR.gif

These arguments are so pathetically weak and decisively ignorant and lazy they're not even amusing.

It is a bit unbecoming of the highest office in the nation.

Of course, Obama can do no wrong according to the 13 year old gays of GGD who claim they remember the mid 2000's even though they had only just come out of the womb. :hor:

It's nice to have a dignified president who acts like a king, sure. It's elegant romantic and pretty. Thing is it isn't really feasible. The only reason the Obamas go on talk shows, etc, is to push an agenda. It's always either that it's just an election year, or they're trying to talk about programs like Obamacare or whatever Michelle's dancing/fitness/moving program is. I think in that aspect what the Obamas have made the presidency into, using media in all forms, is pretty revolutionary and a good thing.

Kevin Parker, Mac Demarco, Mark Ronson, and a stoned Lady Gaga. Need I say more?

I think it's a good thing for the President to be on a variety of mediums. It encourages to get younger people involved in politics. How much of what Obama was saying would have been heard as much if not for his appearances and interviews in popular shows/magazines?

And BTW, for people who want to pretend Obama is the first president to do this kind of thing...

Nixon is hardly what we should aspire too :P

I wondered if someone would say that. :) It's just the oldest example I could find. But, there are lots of others, from presidents and aspiring presidents of both parties, especially in the last decade or two.
