Is The Fame/The Fame Monster underrated by fans these days?

Those are not minor problems. They were huge problems. The era was unbelievably messy. It seems that Gaga has had management issues for a while.

Scheisse and Government Hooker were the best songs on the album. They both could have performed quite well as singles. Scheisse was the most popular song on the album that everyone wanted to see be released as a single. Gaga asked fans what they wanted to be the next single and everyone chose Scheisse.

It's a shame, because Born This Way was an amazing album that deserved better. Hopefully there are no management issues to ruin the next era.

I sometimes see people bashing TF/M but the fact is that IT WAS her best era to this day. The music was good, the videos were good, performances were good, and that surely is what all her eras have, at least to some extent.

But also lyrics clicked with GP and artistic execution wasn't baffling to GP (to anyone but Gaga I should say ?) and you can't say that about BTW or AP. Many elements felt disjointed and too complex. That's the difference and that's why TF/M gave her success and the most awards.

People who discredit it are either :
delusional/blinded with what she says every time she enters new era,
too much in love with BTW/AP to see the big picture clearly
or just are too young / new fans to have experienced or remember what TF/M era was.

The Fame and The Fame Monster are both works of art. Fans that don't like them aren't really fans... I mean how can you dislike half of your so called fave's discography?

If you mean less fans post on forums and online then sure (I use to post on here religiously!) but the era's didn't divide anything. 

This forum (particularly) just isn't what it used to be so some of us who were here in the beginning don't post often (or at all).

But that doesn't mean they left Gaga or don't support.

I meant both. When BTW (single and album) came out, it brought a lot of new fans but at the same time disappointed a lot of old fans.

TFM was perfection. Every song in the album was single worthy material (except for teeth).  The album cover was beautiful, the cover for BR was too.

TF has good songs too and it was the one responsible for Gagas success; just dance, poker face, paparazzi, lovegame, they all proved she was no one-hit wonder.

I hated BTW when it came out. But nowadays I listen to it and can't understand why I didn't like it before. Every time I'm feeling worthless I listen to Marry the Night and it makes me feel better.

ART POP has good songs too but I just couldn't relate with it.
