What kind of messy poll is that. That's only based on the Muslims who would agree that sharia should be the law of government. And there's no information about what numbers agree with that.

This death penalty for leaving Islam has always been the most severe in Islamic history. But I don't see how a poll like that proves that Arabs are too conservative to function properly in a Western society (where sharia ISN'T the law of the state).

I like how you completely ignored the first of the two polls lmao. Also these numbers are from Pew, so they're rather credible... lol.

When most people in the Arab world want Sharia law, and being gay under Sharia law is punishable by death, how can you then be shocked when they come to the west and bring homophobia? I don't understand.

Stop derailing the thread with your irrelevant polls. There are so many ex muslims living in Western countries and there is no whole community or even majority chasing them to end their life.

People are individuals.

It wasn't posted yet.. open your eyeballs, the post was edited.

I'm not shocked there's homophobia among refugees, I never said I was or assumed there is no homophobia among them.. you are honestly a nightmare to talk to, so I'm not even gonna give you the light of day anymore.

My conclusion stands: this article is bs and I believe in the power of education of all European inhabitants (including people born on the soil and refugees, immigrants,...) to set records straight, though I am only pessimistic about the goodwill of politicians and the people who support them to change the education system to adapt to the reality of things today.

I see another poll has been added but it's still not conclusive. We don't know how many Muslims were asked (when you don't know numbers you can almost state that the poll is a failure) and even if it's representative, it's only about their country. Refugees who move to another country obviously don't expect sharia to be the law in that country's government. It would only take an idiot (or two, apparently) to believe in such a thing.

LOL. I love when you resort to petty insults. I've been arguing with you long enough to know that that's what you do when you start losing :laughga:

To reiterate, this poll was done my the largest, most reputable non-profit unbiased polling institution in the world. Yet you are bashing their credibility. I find that laughable.

Additionally, the poll is representative of Muslims who move to another country. Idk what you're going on about.

How can you lose when your points aren't being addressed? You told me that education equals brainwashing, yet you failed to explain why even though I specifically asked. Looking back, I see that 90% of my other points are also ignored. Nice.

I can't conclude that a poll is representative if I don't have information about how it was made and how many people were involved and how exactly the questions were asked. The fact that you don't care about that is proof that you don't even care about any factual basis for your arguments. Go to school and learn how to read polls. It will do you good.

If you check the total percentages:

EGYPT

Percent of Egyptian Muslims favoring Sharia law: 86%
Percent Egyptian Muslims favoring Sharia law who support the death penalty for apostates: 74%

Therefore:

Percent of Egyptian Muslims favoring death penalty for apostates: 64%

So for the following countries:

Afghanistan: 78%
Pakistan: 64%
Palestine: 59%
Jordan: 58%
Malaysia: 53%
Iraq: 38%
Bangladesh: 36%
Thailand: 21%
Tunisia: 16%
Indonesia: 13%
Lebanon: 13%

It's fair to be concerned about some of those percentages... if Germany brings in 1,500,000 Syrian refugees and they have even 15% supporting a death penalty for apostasy (never mind polls on homosexuality) that's 225,000 new religious fundamentalists in the country...

Except that we don't know how many Muslims they asked in comparison to how many live in the countries :rip: I also read that they only asked a small portion of the countries.

But even if the numbers are accurate, I already posted this and I stand by it:

"even if it's representative, it's only about their country. Refugees who move to another country obviously don't expect sharia to be the law in that country's government."

It would be foolish to deny that there will be problems with criminality associated with Islamic "tradition" (though it really only goes back to a couple of centuries), but it is also foolish to explode the issue into a pretension that the majority of refugees will actively resort to violence in a different country where they know the same laws don't apply (meaning: any person attempting to use violence against anyone under the guise of sharia will be arrested and probably thrown in jail).

Could this be a right-wing conspiracy to turn public opinion against immigrants and refugees?

I doubt they'd use the death of a gay man to tug at the heartstrings of conservatives.

They don't need to persuade conservatives, they need to persuade liberals and the uncertain.

Can you and @Didymus report this thread about the title too?

There is no reliable source that they were refugees and Swedish source I posted says nothing about refugees.
