Carly Fiorina is one of the better republican candidates.

However I sincerely hope you wouldn't vote for her over Hilary Clinton.

She and Bernie are effectively the same candidate in terms of ideologies.

I honestly would.. It's just that I feel like Fiorina is more capable at leading in an efficient manner, she'd be more knowledgeable about how to help grow the economy and would be a little stronger when it comes to the military/foreign policy (Hillary seems too apologetic in that arena to me), and I also feel like Fiorina would be better about bridging the party divide than Hillary (republics HATE her with a passion).

Honestly some kind of hybrid Bernie Fiorina ticket would be my dream but there's NO way that's ever going to happen lmao, but I know that those two together would get so many things done.

Polls mean nothing at this point. Iowa has lost it's clout in recent cycles.

The last 2 winners of Iowa (Huckabee '08 and Santorum '12) didn't even sniff the nomination.

The GOP has no chance of defeating Hillary (regardless of the nominee).

But, either Trump or Cruz would go down to a humiliating defeat. At least Rubio might stand a chance of holding Hillary under 300 Electoral Votes.

We've traded a bigot who is a clown for a bigot that is moderately intelligent and is taken seriously? :wtf:

I mean hes still regressive and problematic as **** when it comes to homophobia, misogyny, racism, transphobia, etc. He's really no better, if anything hes worse than Trump because he can still be blatantly ignorant and offensive, but he doesnt go as far as to alienate his own fan base by calling for holocaust like social policies :smh: (At least not yet :green: )

I'd honestly prefer Trump over this guy... I know a lot of you guys here really hate trump (and rightfully so) but at least Trump has somewhat logical reasons behind his viewpoints (even if they aren't the smartest viewpoints ever..) but THIS guy is stone cold and just plain horrible. America would be regressing so much if he becomes presdient...

Where'd my beloved Carly Fiorina go to? :ohno:

I have no idea about Ted Cruz's views so I cannot argue against what you said.
But US is a democratic country, atleast I believe it is. Let's assume that Cruz is worse than Trump and is more likely to harm human rights' in the states, there are still constitutional limitations to how much stupid things a president can do in a country.

Trump is diplomatically a disaster. I think you should have chosen anyone over Trump because Trump can harm relationships with other countries to an extent that cannot be fixed.

HOW CAN TRUMP DO THESE THINGS ? He is going to destroy american economy with damaging all of US's international relations.
- Considering the undiplomatic fanatic rhetoric he uses, he can cause a global war with Russia. There is a saying in my country "powder and fire cannot be juxtaposed."
- He literally got into a child fight with a Saudi Prince. Last time, something similar happened Saudi Arabia put an oil embargo on US, but they removed it in a short-time that it is only recorded as 1973 energy crisis, not a economic depression. Trump can destroy american economy by antagonizing many other countries.
- If Trump becomes president, US is more likely to lose Israel and Turkey as allies. Trump made so many anti-semitic statements, and will only increase his anti-semitic statements in any situation of conflict with Israel considering he has no self-control. I do not even mention his islamophobia, I do not believe there is any chance that  he can keep relationships with Turkey at a good level. US benefits so much from its relationship with Turkey and Israel as these two countries benefit from their relationship with US. He is most likely to antagonize two biggest and most militarily capable allies it has in the most problematic region of the world.
- In the same way, we can assume he is gonna harm relationships with every country in some way... I think he can only get along with France if FN, Marine Le Pen's party can form a majority government after French general elections.
- He is going to make US target of terrorist attack with extremely islamophobic rhetoric. Do not think that they cannot get in to US. Getting into a country for terrorist attack is never a problem. One person is enough for suicide attack. They can manipulate someone from US or sneak into US from illegal ways like people do from mexican border...

I'm not arguing FOR a Trump presidencey, I'm simply stating that in this case I think he wuld be the lesser of two evils and I'm basing this on how the two candidate's respective presidencies would affect everyday life in the US.

As far as your points go, Russia/Putin already seem bent on pushing the US and allies to war but I agree, Trump wouldn't help that situation that much (unless him and Putin somehow manage to find each other as kindred spirits, they both come across as very headstrong leaders), the US is now producing enough oil to satisfy its own consumption levels so a large scale issue with OPEC nations wouldn't be economically crippling (and could be the catalyst for energy reform in the states).

I don't remember hearing Trump making anti-semetic remarks? (but I also haven't watched the news much lately, this past week was finals).

I honestly think Trump wouldn't be as bad as people think when it comes to dealing with allies and visiting other countries; he's a very successful business man and you don't get that way by constinetly offending your partners and ruining opportunities for yourself.

Islamic extremists already target the United States just because of what the nation stands for, a Trump presidency wouldn't change that and honestly I think Trump would be one of the few candidates that would be willing to actively and aggressively pursue destroying ISIS and other terrorist organizations head on. (could be something to work with and bond with Russia over).

My decision was based mostly on the economic and social consequences of electing Cruz vs. Trump and based on things I've heard Cruz say in the past, he'd be just as abrasive if not worse than Trump when it comes to international affairs.

My poor Trump :(

I don't think you all understand how moderate Trump actually is. He says crazy things to get his name in headlines but he is in fact the most moderate candidate on either side of the isle. Hell, a could of years ago he was a democrat!!

The fact of the matter is, Trump and Bernie f*cking Sanders are the ONLY candidates that support campaign finance reform to weed out corruption. They're also the only ones that have proposed any solution to stop the revolving door between Congress and Wall Street.

Furthermore, he is the ONLY Republican candidate who supports raising taxes dramatically on the top 10 and 1%'s and opposes a balanced budget amendment (that no top economist would ever support for good reason, if you've ever taken a intro to economics class).

On top of this, he's also opposed to a flat/regressive tax system which Cruz and Carson and Huckabee all support.

The fact of the matter is, is that Trump surrounds himself with the smartest people in the world and then LISTENS to them. That's how he's made his billions, by listening to other people who he recognizes are smarter than him.

Honestly, he doesn't get enough credit for being a moderate. He's not even opposed to LGBT right! What it comes down to is Trump know if he keeps saying ridiculous things the rally up the masses, he doesn't need to be ultra conservative (or ultra-left wing like Sanders does and is making Clinton do) in order to garner widespread support.

Ted Cruz is much more electable than Trump, so I suppose this is a good thing.
