Noel Gallagher's criticism is unfair. "Music for ****ing grannies" shouldn't be a way to say that an album is bad. Since when does old women have bad taste in music?

Your opinion, his opinion, and my opinion about the album are just that, opinions. There are many people who have been moved my the songs on 25. Also saying that old people and teenagers don't like to be challenged or moved by music is a lie and it's a prejudice of an age group.

Everyone can share their opinion about the album but he/you don't have to be disrespectful towards it and the people who like it. That's where an opinion becomes an insult.

Generalizing about the preferred preferences of certain age groups is not an act of prejudice, it's called marketing.

My criticism of 25 is that it caterers to individuals who like manufactured melodrama, then you defended 25 by saying I was being insulting, unfair, and prejudice, there by proving my point about the type of people who like 25.

He put it down in a rude way, but...he's basically right. It is cheesy because it's full of cliche topics with cliche lyrics. And it is certainly aimed at an older generation because it's sedate, "mature," mellow, ballad-led and doesn't challenge. It's decent, but not much better than ok. He's saying that he misses the days when music used to be more interesting and shook things up. Nothing's being done to challenge anyone now - we just want the same stuff over and over, put down in the same way. You can see why this kind of thing annoys a rocker with a sharp tongue. Interviewers know this kind of thing will set him off, which is precisely why they ask it.
