I hate those fanbase nicknames. I find "little monsters" endearing because it was coined by the artist (Gaga) herself to represent the young outsider demographic that she was targeting in her music, but the rest are invented by the fanbase themselves to associate themselves with the person they like and often make no sense (like Rihanna's Navy...are they referring to Rihanna having come from across the sea in Barbados or something) or are outright cringeworthy (Arianators...)

Probably the only trend that Gaga started that I have ever outright disliked, although it's arguable that it's one of her most iconic influences on media in pop culture.

I agree. I actually hate the name "Little Monsters", and pretty much any fanbase name, but it's pretty clear that it's a big thing that she kicked off but no one ever really seems to recognise. There are artists who had fan names before her but the trend certainly started after the LMs thing.

Right. I wouldn't ever nonchalantly call myself a "Little Monster" but I respect that there's some meaning behind it. The late 2000s may seem like they were just yesterday but pop culture was different back then and it's undeniable that Gaga had an effect of liberating her followers and empowering them to be themselves no matter how much people thought they were "monsters" before social media exploded the way it did in the last couple of years.

The other names are just... I mean... some are kinda cute like "Beyhive" " but what's an Arianator? Is it a play on Ariana + Terminator or something? Senator Selena?
