A message by a former Luzerne County man condemning prejudice against the religion of Islam is receiving international attention. 23-year-old Alex Malloy, who used to live in Duryea, needed a ride home from work in New York City as chaos erupted in France. The cab driver thanked Alex for being his first customer in two hours, telling him people were afraid of his Muslim faith after the Paris attacks. Alex said the cab driver broke down in tears as he detailed the discrimination against him. He was so moved by the conversation that he decided to write about it on social media, and the post went viral. Alex said he's trying to track down the cab driver, so he can show him the love, prayers, and support from all over the world.
