At least three people have already been taken into custody after the Toulouse raids, according to local media. Officers allegedly made several arrests and seized weapons in the raids in Grenoble, a city in south-east of the country. I am sure governments tracks phone calls, messages including certain terms etc. But taking it to a point that a government needs to background check everybody in the country shows a failure... It never should go to that extent which you suggested initially I think . My comment on it will be very superficial but it is always dangerous to accept immigrants from certain backgrounds... Big economies like France mostly has low birth rate, so they need unqualified immigrants which they obviously can't find from other developed countries, so they choose to take unqualified immigrants... Unqualified immigrant means a mass of undereducated people that are open to manipulation and everything. I am not an economist, so my comments are amateur observations, but I would prefer to keep number of unqualified immigrants to a minimum, and do brainwork in the country, but production in other countries where work force is cheap. But at this point, background checking all your citizens, or people with residency screams failure to me... I am sure it wouldn't also give a great sense of security to public either....
