Is Telephone the biggest mistake of The Fame Monster?

Telephone, visually/music video wise, is the best decision of TFM era.

And to be fair, she could've refused to do it if she didn't like it. That's what she did with Alejandro/DITD, I believe.

If that's true then what is wrong with her? I can't find a reason why she'd choose Telephone over the other godly songs from that album.

The video was very corny and it wasn't dark like Bad Romance and Alejandro. If DITD had a music video it would have probably been one of her most iconic.

Dance in the Dark is so overrated to me but opinions are opinions :madge:

And the point of the video was to be corny.

But what about the other songs like Monster and So Happy I Could Bow Down To Jesus and Confess My Sins? :madge:

What???...you talk about Telephone like it's DWUW. A single chosen that flopped and should've been replaced with a hit...

Telephone was a MAJOR hit after Bad Romance and the video was epic for many reasons including Beyonce, Paparazzi sequel, and it being her longest video at that time like watching a movie!

Please...they made a great decision with Telephone... If anything...Alejandro VIDEO ruined the end of the era

Nooooooo

Telephone is one of her most boppable tracks!

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

Well, I wanted Monster to be a single but that doesn't mean I wanted it to replace Telephone, you know. There was space for a 4th single.

I think Telephone is a special case because of the Beyoncé collab. The whole Alejandro/DITD/Monster discussion was all based on the songs as isolated pieces of music, while Telephone also had to deal with the fact that one of music biggest stars was featured on it. I don't think that interscope would have allowed that song to not be released as a single - especially because Beyoncé was also doing Videophone.

truth, the song is a bop, but it shouldn't have been on the album, and it didn't fit with her whole aesthetic and message during the album cycle. it would have been cute in the fame era but instead it was released around the time she was starting to be taken seriously as an artist, and the although the video was it's artistic saving grace, the song itself is simply a mindless pop song - not what Gaga wanted or really needed at the time of it's release.

Obviously her label made her do it. She has said her least favorite song of her's is Telephone and the one she had the hardest time "producing" was also Telephone and it wasn't enjoyable so I mean.

hop on that **** like a maniac

I agree, I skip it. It sounds too much like a Britney song. Plus, Beyonce umm.. :pumpga:

..like the whole record is so peronal and intimate and she just pops out of nowhere like :spook: and just ruins the whole thing, I hate it!

To think that Speechless or Dance In The Dark could have been singles instead just makes me feel sick to my stomach. :cry::cry::cry:

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.
