Is Telephone the biggest mistake of The Fame Monster?

It ruins the cohesive theme of the album. The song looks like a fat hippo in a farm full of horses. I know the song is huge but Interscope is horrible for choosing it over Monster, DITD, SHICD, Speechless and Teeth. To think that Gaga still could have been performing those songs on her tours if Interscope wasn't so restrictive.

WHAT :bye2: It isn't her most brilliant song but it turned out to be one of her most iconic, it being a duet with Bey was a master move and, in an unrelated to the song production note, it is still her best video.

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

I like it, but I get where people are coming from when they say it doesn't sound like it fits on the album to an extent.

Whether it sounds cohesive or whether people don't like it as a single... It still slays me, so I don't mind :legend:

It gave her one of the most iconic videos of the 2010's. So there's that. I think it fits well enough on The Fame Monster. I'd say more so than "Teeth".

Telephone and its video are iconic, but i would prefer Monster and DIDT to be released as singles instead.

Telephone, visually/music video wise, is the best decision of TFM era.

And to be fair, she could've refused to do it if she didn't like it. That's what she did with Alejandro/DITD, I believe.

Monster, DITD, or SHICD could've done better!

The video was very corny and it wasn't dark like Bad Romance and Alejandro. If DITD had a music video it would have probably been one of her most iconic.

I don't think it's a bad fit thematically, but I agree that it's a shame that it was chosen over a song like Dance In The Dark. I think that Telephone was simply the safest song to release for the label, not only because of the feature but also because it was relatively simple and catchy.

If she had release DITD instead I think it would've made a really big impact. The months after Bad Romance had hit were her peak, so if she had released such a lyrical masterpiece instead of "that telephone song", it could've made a huge difference to her reputation and her further career.

Telephone was pop perfection. It may've not been continuous with The Fame Monster theme but it did wonders for her career. That song was bound to succeed no matter the artist, but Gaga's music video is the real star. You can't really listen to that song and not think of the music video.

Kevin Parker, Mac Demarco, Mark Ronson, and a stoned Lady Gaga. Need I say more?

Yes, it's pretty bad and the production is bad. Even Gaga agrees so I mean. :reductive2:
