You guys :rip:

People don't understand Rotten Tomatoes on this place. You need to look at the average RATINGS. In this case it's 68%. The big %'s they post mean nothing.

The 82% means that 82% of all the reviews were positive ("Fresh") but any rating above 60% is enough to count as fresh, so that's why there is the "Average Rating" that shows how the reviews actually rated the episodes. That's the one that counts.

It's always funny to see people here dragging Metacritic for their too low scores when they're usually identical to RT's real scores.

They're referring to the individual episodes though, which all seem to be doing well. The reason the overall score is low is because most weighted reviewers didn't care for the first episode of this season, hence it lowering the total score of Hotel. In any case, RT's score for AHS feels almost arbitrary when you take into account great seasons like Murder House & Asylum having lower scores than the much maligned Freak Show.

What :air:

That's not what I mean. I'm saying that the famous RT percentages are just based on whether or not a review is positive. The actual ratings the reviews give are added up and presented smaller, almost unnoticeable on the same page and it's always a lot lower.

Not even talking about total scores, I'm talking about individual eps. Look here.

Teh score is high because there are more positive reviews and just 2 negative ones. That alone is the 82%. The actual review ratings are turned into the average of 68%. That's the rating that counts.

I'll edit my first post to make it clearer then :xtina:

It was the best episode so far.

Alot of people on here would disagree and I'm seeing tons of people asking "what is the connection between this" or "what is the story" and most importantly "gaga's part was like for 5 seconds".

Its obvious that they wouldn't tell you the entire plot in just 4 episodes. They have to pull and stretch it out for an entire season. And what more explanations do you need?the story is becoming clearer and clearer by each passing episode. Also this is a show of an ensemble cast, not just Lady Gaga. so pls stop hating. Its a great show and I can't wait for next week to see what's going on with Iris and what happens to Alex after she sucks the countess' blood.

Also I have a clue for who the The Ten Commandment Killer might be, but I don't wanna give it away. :fan:

Bad Monster Kid

I hate the two New York critics. Always so negative and act like their above it all. 90% of reviews I've seen from other sites loved the episode.

Ok, I see. Still more fresh reviews than rotten...so? Their overall grading system doesn't seem that meticulous about the depth of the actual individual reviews (or they'd actually use the 68%), like for example AV Club's review could read as mixed, but regardless, it was still graded as a B+ by the writer. The average for this episode may not seem as impressive as the overall score implies, but regardless they are still positive.
