btw i'm hearing this is being used as some kind of refugee loophole to get the dutch to allow them(syrian brides) into the country but the dutch are introducing a new law to stop this.

I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it.

Well, not really. It's a loophole in the law but that doesn't mean people are actively using it to get refugees in. The law just isn't prepared for this situation, as usual.

Whispering

From what I've seen in reports and in interviews with these young girls, these situations are mostly much older men and girls under the age of 14 or 15. If the situation was couples who had simply married young, where both parties were under the age of 18, then it wouldn't be looked at as young girls who are being used as property and are trapped. These girls are not wanting to get married at 12 and 13 years old to much older adult men. Their parents have given them to these men...many times because they were scared not to.

A young couple is a different situation than a 13 year old pregnant girl, who was forced to marry a man twice her age when she was 11 or 12 years old. I wish there was a way they could give these young girls (who were forced into marriage) their freedom back. I guess being an unwed mother or divorce is not an option?

These countries are also going to have to figure out what they are going to do with the centuries old practice of Afghan men having young boys as "boyfriends". I wonder if that cultural practice will stop and how that is going to fit into these camps and refugee areas, where there are others that believe that this common practice calls for the death penalty.

If refugees/asylum-seekers come into a country, they have to fully respect and accept all of the laws in these countries.

Germany:

You have to be at least 18 years old to be able to marry in Germany.

If your fiancé is 18 years old or older, you can marry him/her with the age of 16 - but only with court permission and parental consent.
